Amy Winehouse’s family has decided to part with her clothes on her 10 year death anniversary. The family has decided to auction some of their daughter’s outfits to raise money for the charity and also because it is really painful for them to see them hanging in the storage.

In an interview with ‘Mirror’ Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse said, “Every time the family goes to the lock- up, it’s overwhelmingly emotional seeing her lovely dresses hanging on the rails, so we decided to auction these show outfits.”

He continued, “Amy’s belongings were in a giant lock-up and the family decided that we would keep the most precious, personal items for ourselves.”

Mitch Winehouse, 70, further added, “Auctioning others would help those in need via the foundation and other charities. It seems a fitting way to raise funds in her name.”

Amy’s orange and black Tina Kalivas skirt( estimated worth €3,500) will be up for auction. She wore it to the Grammys in the year 2008. Her iconic Brit Awards yellow mini dress and heart-shaped Moschino bag(estimated worth €14,000)  will also be sold. Some of her bustiers, ballet slippers will also be up for auction.

The Singer and songwriter’s last black dress by designer Naomi Parry will also be put up for auction.

The family has decided to celebrate their daughter’s life on her 10 year death anniversary. They have collaborated with BBC for a documentary that will showcase Amy Winehouse’s real life. 

‘Our day will come’ singer’s mother, Janice explains, “I don’t feel the world knew the true Amy, the one that I brought up, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to offer an understanding of her roots and a deeper insight into the real Amy.”

Dov Freedman, an executive producer on the documentary stated, “Amy is a true musical icon and couldn’t be proud to help people closest to Amy get her story back ten years after her death.”

Amy Winehouse passed away at the age of 27 on July 23, 2011 due to alcohol poisoning.
