Marvel Makes A Statement With It’s First Gay Captain America

Marvel comics get their first ever queer Captain America

Marvel’s new comic the United States of Captain America, which is a limited five-issue series, launches it’s first gay captain America. The new series is being written by Christopher Cantwell (Ironman) and Dale Eaglesham(Fantastic Four) who is the artist. The duo team up with a different pair for every new issue.

The LGBTQ Captain America named Aaron Fischer who is in his teens is stunning as he’s being designed by Josh Trujillo and artist Jan Balzadua. In an interview with Nerdist, Trujillo said, “I really enjoyed designing him, and as a transgender person, I am happy to be able to present an openly gay person who admires Captain America and fights against evil to help those who are almost invisible to society.”

Where Trujillo remarked, “Aaron is inspired by heroes of the queer community. Activists, leaders, and everyday folks pushing for a better life. He stands for the oppressed, and the forgotten. I hope his debut story resonates with readers, and helps inspire the next generation of heroes.”

It’s pretty evident that Marvel knows how to keep its fans on their toes. A gay Captain America is a long due. It is for their 80th anniversary that Marvel is putting together the new comic series. The only person that comes to our minds when we hear the words “Captain America” is Chris Evans. At the beginning of 2021, there were rumors of him returning to play his recurred role of the Superhero Captain.

But sad news to fans as it seems like he has already bid adieu to his role. Kevin Fiege from Marvel told Entertainment Weekly, “I rarely answer no to anything anymore because things are always surprising me with what happens, but that rumor, I think, was dispelled rather quickly by the man himself (Chris Evans).”

Hold on to hope guys since Sebastian Stan (Who plays Bucky Barnes) says, “I feel like you can’t ever think of the words ‘Captain America’ without thinking about Chris Evans. He’s done such an amazing job with it, and I feel like he’s always going to have this presence. And he has a presence in our show(The falcon and winter soldier).”

Marvel always keeps its fans entertained. So let’s catch our very first gay Captain America in the United States of Captain America issue 1 on June 2nd, 2021!
