Brie Larson Faces Backlash Over NFT Promotion And New Metaverse Video

Brie Larson recently tweeted a snapshot of herself showing off her NFT collection in a virtual gallery which enraged a lot of her fans. “Welcome to my lil corner of @some_place metaverse. Can’t wait to welcome you all in soon,” she wrote in the tweet.

In the tweet, a vast collection of Brie Larson’s favorite NFTs can be seen played out, which also includes one from the Ethereum NFT collection The Flower Girls. Some of the other NFTs from the Captain Marvel star’s collection consisted stuff from The Rebels, Women and Weapons, 1989 Sisters, and CryptoVenus collections.

Brie Larson’s digital avatar in the Metaverse has been defined as a mobile metaverse that is “founded by women entrepreneurs” that “insists on breaking down barriers to build a more equitable digital experience for all.” The “some place” mobile application allows users to have their own “personal spaces” in the Metaverse much like Larson’s to use, which they can use to carry out various activities like display NFT collections and even drinking coffee. It also lets a person interact with other users via real-time multiplayer.

Fans have responded negatively to this stunt

However, Brie Larson’s tweet about her NFT collection garnered a lot of negative responses from her fans. “Please no,” commented one user. “NFT profile picture, and now this?” commented another one with a GIF and a caption that reads  “you’re going down a path I can’t follow.” 

The most popular response among them all, which gathered more than 1K likes read, “Brie, you can get coffee in real life,” which referenced her digital metaverse avatar going for a coffee n the clip she shared.


“You can get paid a million billion dollars to be in movies and still feel compelled to debase yourself like this so you can buy a fifth house or whatever,” wrote another commenter.

“it’s extra sad to see brie of all ppl doing all this s*** like before marvel she was an indie queen just vibing and being a very normal person and now………it’s turned her into a corporate nightmare i do not like her it’s been a fun couple years watching the downfall,” wrote another fan.
