Adele has decided not to agree to pay her ex-husband, Simon Konecki, any of her wealth as part of spousal support, as the two complete their divorce proceedings.
The 32-year-old “Rolling in The Deep” singer, Adele and her 46-year-old ex-husband, Simon Konecki have agreed to have joint custody of their 8-year-old kid, Angelo.
According to the court documents obtained by TMZ from Wednesday, last week, it was a mutual decision of Adele and Simon Konecki to not pay spousal support.
“Each party waives the rights to seek or obtain any spousal support from the other party.”
While a lot of the documents have not been made public, so it is still unclear if Adele has paid her ex-husband any non-spousal form of financial help. The details of their parental proceedings are also confidential as of yet.
Why did Adele and Simon Konecki split up?
Adele and her now ex-husband, Simon Konecki decided to split up back in April 2019 following their 3-year-long marriage.
The reason for their split is not for some dramatic reason, as the two just felt that they had platonic feelings for each other and their marriage was not working.
An insider had informed US Weekly back then that “Their relationship evolved and they became more like friends than lovers. They realised the romantic love was no longer there. They’re disappointed, but it just didn’t work out.”
It is also rumoured that Adele had enlisted the help of mediators to split up her £140 million riches, as a source claimed that:
‘They made it very clear they didn’t want to set lawyers on each other but the process hasn’t been exactly straightforward all the same. The priority was making sure they did right by their son, Angelo.
“The first thing they agreed on was sharing custody, and since then it has been about dividing up the rest of their marital finances fairly”
Luckily for Adele and her ex-husband, Simon Konecki, their legal case has managed to stay away from the public eye.
“Fortunately they have managed to get there without an explosive public court case, slanging matches or scandalous claims about each other, and that gives them the best possible chance of staying on good terms in the future.”
