A few days after Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) sealed Rekha’s Bandra bungalow, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar’s house has been declared a ‘Containment Zone’.
Rekha’s staff contracted the Coronavirus
The veteran actress is under strict home quarantine after one of her security guards and two staff members contracted the coronavirus. The affected are currently undergoing treatment in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
Later, it was reported that four more watchmen in her vicinity tested positive.
Rekha has not made a public comment yet, but she reportedly refused to get a COVID test done as she had been home-isolating and never came in contact with the guard.
The actress and her manager Farzana were supposed to take coronavirus tests. The BMC kept a tab on them, until Farzana informed the team that Rekha is fit and fine and didn’t need testing.
An official notice which reads “This area has been declared as ‘containment area’ as a resident is found positive in Coronavirus test,” was put outside her house.
Why Zoya Akhtar’s house was sealed
Zoya Akhtar’s house is right next to Rekha’s bungalow, Sea Springs, in Bandstand. There is no information if anyone at Zoya’s has been infected. However, it is likely that the BMC sealed her bulding as a precautionary measure, after neighbour Rekha’s guard tested positive for the Coronavirus.
A similar banner has been pasted outside Zoya’s residence. It restricts the entry of any individual and mandates social distancing, adding that flouting these norms will be punishable. But no comments have been made from Zoya’s end as yet.
B-Town battles coronavirus
Only today, Sara Ali Khan disclosed that her driver had tested positive for the deadly virus. Previously, Bollywood heavyweights like Aamir Khan, Karan Johar and Boney Kapoor reported that their staff members had been infected with COVID.
On Saturday, Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan were admitted to the hospital as they tested positive for the virus. They only displayed mild symptoms but immediately sought professional care.
The father-son duo is being treated at the Nanavati hospital in Mumbai and is on the path of recovery.
A second test revealed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan were COVID positive too, after their rapid test showed otherwise. The two are in home-quarantine at Jalsa, while Jaya Bachchan tested negative and is self-isolating at Pratiksha.
From Karan Johar to Rekha, the list of Bollywood celebs affected by the coronavirus continues to grow. All we can do is wish for everyone’s speedy recovery.
