Amber Heard Has Reportedly Been Fired From Aquaman 2, Who’s Stepping In Her Role?

Warner Bros. had decided to stand by Amber Heard following the verdict of the court case.

As per reports going around, Warner Bros Pictures has reportedly terminated Amber Heard’s Aquaman 2 contract.

There’s been much discussion about whether Warner Bros. will stick by the actress in the long-term after her ongoing legal battles with ex Johnny Depp, but to date, Amber Heard is still officially expected to reprise her role as Mera in Aquaman 2. However, new reports are claiming that WB has fired her over a breach of contract.

While Amber may have won the libel case in London recently, the hostile and negative media following it has drastically affected both their careers.

Last year Johnny Depp was removed from films like Fantastic Beast 3 and he may not appear in the next Pirates Of The Caribbean movies. Per YouTube channel, Popcorned Planet and Australian site Sausage Roll sources, Heard has been let go from the James Wan sequel on the grounds that she broke the health and fitness clauses in her contract. But beyond that, no specific reasons are known.

While reports of Amber Heard being fired are now stronger than ever, it is also being said that WB has yet to hire a new actress as Aquaman’s (Jason Momoa) love interest. Earlier reports also stated that Warner Bros. had decided to stand by Amber Heard following the verdict of the court case. But at the same time, it was also said that if she did breach her contract with the studio, then WB wouldn’t mind firing her.

What is happening with the Johnny Depp defamation case against Amber Heard?

Johnny Depp’s US$50 million defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard will not be coming head to head in a courtroom any time soon. It has been delayed again, with the former husband and wife set to face off in a courtroom come April 11, 2022.

The new date was decided on Tuesday by Fairfax County Circuit Court Chief Judge Bruce White.

The last time the trial was pushed back on September 2020, with Judge White delaying it due to backlogs in the state’s court system because of the coronavirus pandemic. At the time, Depp also wanted the reschedule because of his Fantastic Beasts 3 shooting schedule.

Since then he has been dropped from the film after losing a British libel claim against The Sun, which published an article calling him a “wife beater”.
