Amber Heard’s Removal Petition From Aquaman 2 Has Over 1.5 Million Signatures

Over 1.5 million people have signed to remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.

Amber Heard’s role in Aquaman 2 is in jeopardy. Recently the online petition to remove Amber Heard from the DC franchise gained over 1.5 million signatures from people across the globe. This came in after her ex-husband Johnny Depp was removed from the Fantastic Beasts franchise due to the allegations from The Sun newspaper.

What is Amber Heard’s removal petition about?

The online petition site wants that Amber Heard should also get the same treatment as her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Hence, they filed a petition for Amber Heard’s role as Mera in Aquaman 2. The petition says ” Since Heard’s divorce from Johnny Depp, she has systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood. He will bear the scar from that for the rest of his life.”

“Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry. Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.”

The goal of the petition is to have 3 million signatures which nowhere seems impossible as the rate of signatures are increasing day-by-day. Also, the petition accuses the Aquaman actress to be “creating false accounts of[Depp] being the abuser.” The petition came after Depp was forced to resign from the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

How did the Amber Heard Aquaman 2 petition start?

Amber Heard had long accused Depp of domestic violence and taking this into account The Sun publisher News Group Newspapers and editor Dan Wootton referred to the actor as “wife-beater” in one of their columns. Soon enough Depp sued the tabloid and editor Dan Wootton but he lost the case in UK court to judge Andrew Nicole who said that there was enough evidence for the claim and the paper was “substantially true”.

Depp said that the decision was “surreal” and that it has led to Warner Bros. asking him to resign from the franchise. He was asked to drop out of the third franchise of Fantastic Beasts from his role of Gellert Grindelwald. Depp would be paid the full $10m salary for his role as he had already shot one scene of the movie but this doesn’t even come to the fact that his career has been literally ruined. He was also asked to give around $753716.25 legal fees to The Sun publisher according to Independent.

The actor posted a note after leaving his role, on his Instagram account. He addressed the note to his fans and thanked them for their “support and loyalty”. He also said that the judgment will not change his fight, to tell the truth. However, the court has denied his appeal for the charges.

The fans although had mocked Warner Bros. for calling him a liar and had been showing constant support for the actor through #justiceforjohnnydepp by various messages and photos.

She further talked about the petition and said, “Paid rumors and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate [casting decisions] because they have no basis in reality. “

“Only the fans actually made Aquaman and Aquaman 2 happen. I’m excited to get started next year.”
