The rumors about Andrew Garfield joining the Spider-Man movie have come to an end. The actor has personally taken it into his account and cleared the air around them. It was reported that for Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire would be joining Tom Holland in the new movie. Both of the actors have played Spider-Man in the previous versions. Tobey Maguire was the first Spider-Man to hit the screens, back in 2002 with Sony Pictures. Later, Andrew Garfield came in Amazing Spider-Man in 2014.
Andrew Garfield talked about his return in Spider-Man 3 with Josh Horowitz while promoting his movie. Josh asked the actor about his involvement in the new movie, while he denied it completely. “There’s nothing to ruin! … Listen, I can’t speak for anything else but for myself. Like, they might be doing something. But I ain’t got a call. … I did not get a call. Listen, I would have gotten a call by now, that’s all I’m saying.“
Andrew Garfield Says Spider-Man 3 Rumors Are Hilarious
He even said that all the gossip around his return was hilarious to him. “Dude, it’s f—ing hilarious to me,” he said. “Because it’s like… because I do have this Twitter account and I see how often Spider-Man is trending, and it’s like people freaking out about a thing and I’m just like, ‘Guys…guys, guys, guys, like, I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say… I recommend that you chill.'”. He further added, “I don’t want to rule anything out. Maybe they want to call me and say like, ‘Hey, people want this.’ Maybe they’re doing a market research thing!”
Whether or not this is another promotional strategy by Marvel. We are sure that it will be amazing to see Andrew Garfield on the big screen in any role. Spider-Man: No Way Home will be hitting the theaters on December 17 with Tom Holland and Zendaya as the main leads. The productions of the movie have already been started. Even the actors of the movie did a small prank on their fans while revealing the title.
Andrew Garfield even compared the Spider-Man rumors with the game called Mafia. “You know what it feels like though? It feels like — because this hasn’t come up yet in an interview, but like…you know that game [Werewolf or Mafia]? And I think it’s kinda similar where it’s like you’re convincing everyone that you’re not in the mafia… Like I feel like I’m in a game of f—ing Werewolf or Mafia where I’m like I’m not the werewolf. I promise you I am not the werewolf. And everyone’s like ‘You’re the werewolf, you’re the f—ing werewolf.'”
Well after this statement it is sure that fans are disappointed. After the announcement of the trio reuniting, fans speculated the idea of the multiverse would finally become true in MCU. Hence leading to a point where Ironman who died in Avengers: Endgame could come back. Although being a professional actor we can also assume that Andrew Garfield was lying in the interview for Spider-Man. For Marvel Studios the idea of a multiverse is one of the biggest theories that could skyrocket their box office earnings. Hence, keeping it in all secrecy would be no biggie.
