John Legend and Kanye West’s association requires no introduction and they together have come up with some real chartbusters. Even Legend’s debut album Get Lifted, which released in 2004, was co-produced by Kanye West under the banner Good Music. Later, they churned out numerous hits and the single ‘All Of Me’ is still considered the best among the lot. Their friendship was celebrated by the media but rumours were rife that a difference in opinion aroused between them when Kanye West voiced his support for Donald Trump. Ever since, their friendly relationship has been under the scanner.
Are they still not on talking terms? Did they part ways? A lot of questions popped up in the minds of fans. Nevertheless, Legend himself has now cleared the air surrounding the same.
John Legend’s revelation about his friendship with Kanye West
It was in a recent interaction with a popular magazine that the American singer commented on his friendship with Kanye West. He made it pretty clear that West’s comments about Donald Trump have not made them ‘less friends’ and both of them are good. Legend also stressed on the fact that they are preoccupied with their professional and family commitments, in two different regions. “He’s up in Wyoming. I’m here in L.A. We’ve both got growing families and I no longer have a formal business relationship with him as an artist, so I think it’s just part of the natural cycle of life.”, the All Of Me singer stated.
No discussions about politics
John Legend has said that they discussed nothing about politics during meetings. He mentioned that all the discussions and conversations were solely related to music. As everyone knows, West is more interested in gospel music now. In the interview, John Legend expressed his interest to attend the Sunday Services whenever he gets a chance. Well, that should once again underline the fact that their friendship has not hit rock-bottom.
The Tweets That Surprised All
For the uninitiated, in 2018, Kanye West took to Twitter to share a screenshot of a conversation that he had with John Legend, over the former voicing his support for Donald Trump. John Legend, who had backed Hillary Clinton’s candidature during the 2016 presidential elections, requested West to reconsider his thought since he is a popular figure worth looking up to. In another tweet, Kanye West made it clear that he revealed the chat to show that there are a lot of people who disagree with him, but he would still stand by his decision.
