Ariana Grande surprised Gwen Stefani with a trip to Las Vegas as the No Doubt singer wrapped up her residency there. Gwen Stefani – Just a Girl concluded her residency at the Zappos Theater in the glittering Nevada city on Saturday, November 6. The residency, which began in June 2018 and ran until May 2020, featured 57 performances, with the final eight being postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I just finished show no. 57—that was a wrap, guys,” Gwen said in a video she posted to her Instagram Story shortly after the show ended. “I did a Vegas residency, and it is done. So I just wanted to say thank you so much to everybody that came out. It was absolutely so incredible, and I’m so grateful, and I love you guys.”
The 52-year-old “Sweet Escape” singer released snippets and photographs from the big night to her Instagram Story on Sunday, November 7.
This featured a video that Ariana, who was in attendance on Saturday, had previously posted to her own Instagram Story.
Gwen Stefani sings “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt, and Ariana Grande wrote to accompany the video, “brilliant @gwenstefani congratulations on completing this incredible run love you so much.”
Ariana also shared a video of Blake Shelton performing “Happy Anywhere,” their 2020 duet with wife Gwen Stefani. Ariana, who is Blake’s co-star on The Voice, wrote: “that’s my grandpa @blakeshelton i’m so f–in proud. i love this song and you both @gwenstefani.”
Gwen Stefani, for one, seemed taken aback by Ariana Grande’s presence.
“ummmm @arianagrande u came to my show?! yay love u thank you,” Gwen said on her repost of the 28-year-old “thank u, next” singer’s video.
Ariana also uploaded a video of Mao Kawakami, who performed with Ariana on the Sweetner World Tour in 2019, dancing on stage to No Doubt’s “Bathwater” during Gwen Stefani’s Las Vegas gig. “Queens,” Ariana wrote as part of her support for the dancer.
Gwen also shared footage of the poignant duet with Blake on her Instagram account, writing, “@blakeshelton thank u for making my last #justagirlvegas show even more epic last night #happyanywhere gx.” She also included a heart emoji in her post.
John Legend, who is competing against Ari and Blake as a coach on this season of The Voice, and his wife Chrissy Teigen, who also uploaded concert footage on her Instagram Story, were among the other fans in attendance for the huge night.
