Kate Hudson‘s rendition of Ariana Grande’s 7 Rings receives five out of five stars.
On Jimmy Fallon’s show That’s My Jam, the Almost Famous star delivered a doo-wop version of Grande’s popular hit that might make your mouth drop. Hudson, who shared a video of herself performing the song on Instagram, looks calm, cool, and collected.
“WHAT A BLAST!” Kate captioned the video, “Thanks for having @theoliverhudson and I ❤️ @katehudson channels @arianagrande in a Doo-Wop style performance of 7 Rings! Catch the season finale of @nbc’s #ThatsMyJam MONDAY 9/8c.”
Ariana Grande has given Kate Hudson the thumbs up.
She commented, “stunning perfect gorgeous.” To which Hudson replied “Love you!”
“may we have this on all streaming services please,” Grande added.
People may have forgotten Hudson can sing after she appeared as a guest star on five episodes of Glee in 2012 and 2013.
Ariana Grande isn’t the only one who was taken aback by the cover, as she shared a video of Kate Hudson performing on her Instagram stories.
Kate’s vocal abilities were also lauded by fans and celebrity pals in the comments section.
“@katehudson your singing is so wonderful,” Drew Barrymore remarked, while fashion designer Rachel Zoe said, “This is beyond @katehudson please please just make an album!!! Been asking for decades.”
On YouTube, someone gushed, “She should put this out as a single. She made it her own! Absolutely catchy! Total hit!”
“The people that didn’t know Kate could SING, never saw Glee??? She is awesome,” a second person added. “I would buy that song only if Kate Hudson sings it with that background,” wrote a third. “That was so cool. She is so talented.”
“Her vocals are masterpiece,” wrote another fan.
Kate wore a burgundy long-sleeved shirt with a pink floral pattern and a matching skirt. She finished off her ensemble with white leather knee-high boots and loose curls in her blonde hair.
7 Rings was released as a single from Ariana Grande’s fifth studio album Thank You, Next in 2019.
Kate has previously performed in the 2009 film Nine, various episodes of Glee, and Sia’s 2021 film Music. She also posted a video to Instagram in October of her three-year-old daughter Rani Rose singing Alicia Keys’ song Girl On Fire.
“Thought I’d share the full experience!” the Raising Helen star captioned the clip. “7:30 am showing! Rani’s favorite song This Girl is On Fire. This is how we do it over here….we love putting on a show LETS GO!”
