Arnold Schwarzenegger was engaged in a four-vehicle accident in Brentwood late Friday afternoon, reported his spokesman, and a woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the junction of Sunset Boulevard and Allenford Avenue, and paramedics transported a woman with a head abrasion to the hospital.
The identities of those involved in the incident, which was initially reported by TMZ and information about the automobiles involved, were not released by the police.
Schwarzenegger had just left his home and was driving a GMC Yukon when he collided with a Toyota Prius, said a spokesman for the actor and former California governor.
The LAPD noted in a statement that, “neither alcohol or drugs are suspected as a factor in this collision. All parties remained at scene. No further information will be made available.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s spokesman told The Times that he had not been drinking while the accident took place.
Jake Steinfeld of “Body by Jake” was also on the scene, according to the spokesman.
Schwarzenegger, an Austrian-born bodybuilder who later became a Hollywood action star, personified the immigrant ideal. He married a Kennedy family member and built a fortune in real estate while becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors.
Long a Republican, Schwarzenegger defeated Gov. Gray Davis in a recall election in 2003, sparking speculation of altering the Constitution to allow him to run for president. His time as governor, however, was difficult due to both an economic crisis and his incapacity to accomplish change through pure force of will. In a series of 2005 ballot measures, teacher’s unions, in particular, rolled over his policy plans.
Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver got divorced when she discovered he had a child with a longtime member of the family’s staff after he left office. Their divorce became final in December, last year.
Prior to becoming the governor, he had been accused of inappropriate and obscene behavior on film sets. But Schwarzenegger would overcome his personal problems and return to Hollywood as well as the international stage. He spends a lot of time talking about climate change and gerrymandering, but he also poked fun at former President Trump’s policies and behaviour in videos that went popular during his time in office.
