Bella Hadid Embraces Sobriety After Feeling Out Of ‘Control’

A result of a brain scan!

Bella Hadid is embracing sobriety after a brain scan made it “a lot harder to pick up the glass.”

In an interview with InStyle’s Kylie Gilbert that was published on Friday, the model spoke about partaking in Dry January and her non-alcoholic beverage brand Kin Euphoric. The 25-year-old co-founded Kin Euphorics with Jen Batchelor and announced the brand in September 2021 after finding that it helped with her anxiety, the brain fog from her Lyme disease.

“I have done my fair share of drinking. I loved alcohol and it got to the point where even I started to, you know, cancel nights out that I felt like I wouldn’t be able to control myself,” Hadid told the outlet.

Hadid, who’s been sober since mid-2021, told the outlet that she doesn’t see herself going back to alcohol.

“I don’t feel the need because I know how it will affect me at 3 in the morning when I wake up with horrible anxiety thinking about that one thing I said five years ago when I graduated high school,” Hadid said.

She continued: “There’s just this never-ending effect of, essentially, you know, pain and stress over those few drinks that didn’t really do much, you know?”

This month, Bella Hadid told WSJ Magazine’s Lane Florsheim how alcoholism affected her.

Hadid sadid that she hadn’t used a stylist in “maybe two years” and struggled to get dressed in the morning due to anxiety. “I was in such a weird place mentally that it was really complicated for me to get out of the house and put an outfit together, especially with the anxiety of [paparazzi] being outside and all that,” she told the outlet.

In November 2021, Bella Hadid shared photos of herself crying in an Instagram post.

“This is pretty much my everyday, every night For a few years now,” she wrote. “Social media is not real. For anyone struggling, please remember that. Sometimes all you’ve gotta hear is that you’re not alone. So from me to you, you’re not alone. I love you, I see you, and I hear you.”

“Self help and mental illness/chemical imbalance is not linear and it is almost like a flowing rollercoaster of obstacles… it has its ups and downs, and side to sides,” she added. “But I want you to know, there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and the rollercoaster always comes to a complete stop at some point.”

Bella Hadid was previously arrested and charged with a DUI in 2014 when she was 17 years old, for which she was given six months of probation, 25 hours of community service, and 20 hours of Alcoholic Anonymous meetings, in addition to having her license suspended for a year.

Bella Hadid embraces sobriety among many other celebs who found the effects of drugs and alcoholism affecting their daily life.
