Bella Hadid made waves at the Cannes Films Festival this year by making her relationship with boyfriend Marc Kalman Instagram official. And since then, the couple hasn’t been shy about being in the public eye.
The 24-year-old model and her boyfriend were seen walking around after a breakfast date in New York City on Monday morning.
For the morning date, Bella wore a baby blue cardigan, biker shorts, and loafers while Marc Kalman was dressed casual in a white tee and black trousers. While the Michael Kors model has been experimenting with her hair styles recently, she kept her brunette locks tied.
As for the accessories, Hadid kept a leather bag slung over her right shoulder and covered her face with a leopard-printed face mask to keep herself protected from COVID-19.
Bella Hadid and Marc Kalman were first romantically connected this past July, although they have reportedly been seeing each other for well over a year. Prior to this relationship, she was in a long-term relationship with The Weeknd, which ended for good in 2019. Their busy schedules were pointed out as the cause for the split.
Although, per a source to US Weekly, the two maintain a cordial relationship. “They still have a great deal of love and respect for each other and will remain friends, but it has been too hard to coordinate their schedules with him finishing and promoting his upcoming album,” the insider shared. “They really tried to make it work.”
While Bella and her sister Gigi Hadid have garnered a great reputation as models for their work and style among fans and the industry, not all things were easy for the junior Hadid.
Bella Hadid recently opened up about the pressure she felt as a young model to portray a certain image for fans.
“It’s like there were two Bellas — me, this person in the process of figuring out who she was, and ‘Bella Hadid’ the alter ego, who was, I dunno, a s**bot who goes out every night?” the Washington, D.C., native, 24, said in an interview with Vogue published Thursday, August 5.
She also opened up about dealing with social anxiety in the spotlight.
“I have insane social anxiety! Partying is not my thing, but I felt enormous pressure to project that image because I assumed that’s all people wanted from me,” she noted.
While stardom brings both the good and bad along the way, Bella Hadid has learned to feel more comfortable in her own skin — and show her complete personality to the world.
“Now I don’t want to live in that box,” she said. “I definitely feel like I’m allowed to speak.”
Hadid began modeling at age 17. In January 2018, Yolanda opened up about her youngest daughter’s experience with anxiety during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly.
“Bella suffers from anxiety. She goes through times where … she doesn’t like her body because she gained five pounds, or [she’s] too skinny. All this stuff that kids go through,” the Netherlands native, 57, said. “We’re all in the same game, and we all deal with that stuff. Even girls that are not models go through that. So, I think it’s really a great reality check to see that we’re all human and we’re all trying to do our best. All that matters is that you really try to be the best version of yourself.”
