Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are deeply in love. The couple arrived for Lopez’s premiere of her movie Marry Me along with her boyfriend, Affleck, who couldn’t take his off her.
Jennifer Lopez took the sartorial spotlight, wearing a bridal white lace Giambattista Valli mini dress with Jimmy Choo heels, and Affleck complemented her in a black suit. The actress also shared pictures of herself from the film’s screening and she wrote: “Marry Me movie Hollywood premiere. It’s finally coming Friday to theaters and streaming on Peacock TV.”
Jennifer Lopez recently revealed her major takeaways from rekindling her relationship with Ben Affleck, saying she’s “so lucky” to have received a “second chance” with Ben Affleck.
During her appearance on The Ellen Show to promote her upcoming film Marry Me, Lopez spoke to Ellen DeGeneres about getting back together with Ben Affleck after 18 years. While DeGeneres started off by not mentioning Affleck’s name and merely asking the singer what was new in her life, Lopez couldn’t stop smiling knowing what the talk show host was hinting at.
Ellen then went straight to the point and asked, “Never would I pry, [so] what was it like the first night getting back together?” She further added, “I can’t imagine. It must be like, ‘Oh my, God! We’re back together after 18 years!’ That’s like — right?”
Responding to DeGeneres’ question, Lopez admitted, “I don’t think anybody was more surprised than us. The Marry Me star further added, “You never could imagine something like that could happen. It’s a beautiful thing.”
Speaking to Rolling Stone in an interview released earlier this week Lopez spoke about why she doesn’t foresee her and Affleck breaking up again this second time around. “I don’t think we would have got back together if we thought that was where it was headed,” she started. “We feel like what we found again is so much more important, and how we protect that and how we live our lives—what to share, what not to share—is the balance that we have now, the benefit of experience and the wisdom that we gained over the years.”
She also opened up about her journey in the entertainment industry and about the discipline she learned as a young adult.
While chatting with Rolling Stone, the multi-hyphnate star shared insight into her family dynamics at home and how her relationship with her mother Guadalupe Rodríguez prepared her for her longstanding career in Hollywood.
She told the magazine: “Listen, my mom was also a fun mom. My mom was also the mom who got me into musicals and introduced me to all kinds of music. I am an entertainer because of my mom. But I’m also able to survive the things I’ve survived in this business because my mom was tough. I don’t think she could realize what she was preparing me for, but she did.”
Despite making it big, the 52-year-old star admitted that she sometimes still feels like an “underdog” because of her background.
“I always feel like I was scraping from the bottom. Always. I always felt like I wasn’t the one that was supposed to be in the room. That’s part of being Puerto Rican and from the Bronx and a woman. You know what I mean? All of that stuff. Not being born into a family with money. Not knowing anybody in the business. I just went out there and said, ‘F— it. I’m going to just try. I’m going to try to get in here,'” she said.
