Ben Affleck’s last directorial venture a movie named ‘Live by Night’, which was made around five years back, failed to please viewers and was deemed a flop. But he didn’t give up hope and is again trying to come back in the directing game with ‘Keeper of Lost Cities’ for Disney.

The former Batman actor’s new directorial project ‘Keeper of Lost Cities’ is a live-action film adaptation of Shannon Messenger’s best-selling nine-book series under the same name. It has over 2.5 million books in print and entered the semifinals for the 2020 Goodreads Choice Awards. The story is about a clever 12-year-old girl named Sophie Foster who has the ability to read minds and is in search of answers about her hidden telepathic powers.

Following is the book description:

“In the bestselling novel, a telepathic girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world before the wrong person finds the answer first. When 12-year-old Sophie finally discovers where her secret telepathic abilities come from, she learns she’s actually not human but is from another world that exists side by side with ours.”

The ‘Justice League’ actor’s production company (Pearl Street production company) will also produce the movie. He will co-write the movie along with Kate Gritmon. (previously been an assistant on Season 5 of Game of Thrones) Madison Ainley will serve as an executive producer.

Recently, Ben Affleck, 48 collaborated with Ridley Scott, Matt Damon, and Nicole Holofcener for the historical revenge thriller ‘The Last Duel.’ He has also co-written the movie.

Though the date of commencement is yet to be decided for ‘Keeper of Lost Cities’ but Ben Affleck still has other movies in the pipeline. As per reports, The two-time Oscar winner will direct Ghost Army (historical fiction about World War 2), King Leopold’s Ghost, McMillions, and The Big Goodbye.

As an actor, he is all set to return as Batman one last time in the movie ‘The Flash’ with Ezra Miller. The movie will be directed by Andy Muschietti.
