Blake Lively’s Breathtaking Met Gala 2022 Transformation Will Leave You Stunned

Lively’s double dress reveal is certainly going down in history as one of the most epic Met Gala reveal moments ever!

Fashion’s favorite darling Blake Lively stepped onto the 2022 Met Gala red carpet on Monday night embodying the “Gilded Glamour” theme in a chic ensemble, and we can’t stop gushing about her look for its exquisite design, and well, the meaning behind it.

Blake Lively looked an absolute diva in a rose gold strapless gown by Versace, which featured beaded embellishment all over and also bore a long trail and matching long gloves. But the surprises didn’t stop there, she had another layer wrapped like a bow on her right waist.

On the Met Gala 2022 red carpet, three assistants helped Blake Lively unfurl the train to reveal its turquoise underside — an Art Deco ode to the Statue of Liberty, which has oxidized from copper to green. She even swapped glove colors to fully channel Lady Liberty. And boy! The change couldn’t have been any better. Lively’s train featured the hand-painted celestial map found on the ceiling of Grand Central station and the golden design on the torso is meant to represent the Empire State Building.

She looked every bit gorgeous in crystal-encrusted enormous diamond Lorraine Schwartz earrings and a gleaming tiara on her sleek hairdo.

Beyond the obvious sparkle, Blake Lively’s Met Gala 2022 look had a deeper meaning.

Referencing her bustier, Blake Lively told E!, “This is architecture from the Empire State Building.” Lively’s double dress reveal is certainly going down in history as one of the most unexpected and epic Met Gala reveal moments ever.

Blake Lively’s look is an ode to New York City.

“Well … instead of looking to fashion to influence the dress, I looked to New York City architecture and the classic buildings,” Lively told People on the carpet.

The crown has seven tiers, and the statue has seven rays, “representing the sun’s rays and also the seven seas and continents, which represents welcomeness, inclusivity, and freedom,” Lively said. “I sound like a Wikipedia page. And she has 25 windows, so Lorraine put 25 stones at the bottom [of the tiara],” she added.

The 2022 bash is Lively’s 14th time walking the Met red carpet, and this year she is even a co-chair of the event.

“The Town” actress walked in for the gala with her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds, for his part, looked dapper in a velvet suit and white shirt and bow tie.
