Bowen Yang is rising to fame after the impression of an iceberg on SNL’s episode of “Weekend Update” Sunday. The actor did the impression of the iceberg that sank the Titanic on April 14, 1912. He was on the show for the promotion of his new album, Music, which is an EDM new disco Fantasia, while he also did a hilarious interview with the host, Colin Jost.
“That was a really long time ago. I’ve done a lot of reflecting to try and move past it,” he said to big laughs. “It’s one very small part me, but there’s so much going on beneath the surface that you can’t see.” Bowen Yang’s character of iceberg also answered the host’s questions about what he felt during the crash. He said, “No, these are not the questions we discussed. This is not very nice, Colin. I think my publicist was very clear: I’m not here to talk about the sinking”. Before he got into the details of the incident from his point of view.
“First of all, you came to where I live and you hit me! It was midnight. I was chilling. And then I hear this Irish cacophony behind me,” Bowen Yang’s iceberg character explained to the SNL host. “And before I turn around and go, like, ‘What?’ Half my a– is gone, which was my best feature. And I’m literally injured but all anybody cares about is that like 40 or 50 people died or whatever”. Honestly, it wasn’t his fault! “Everyone’s talking about me, no one’s talking about the water,” The iceberg bemoaned. “What did the autopsy say, they iceberged-ed? No, they drowned, b—h. That’s not me, that’s water. But nobody’s canceling the ocean.”
Fans want Bowen Yang to be a regular at SNL?
Bowen Yang took Twitter by storm on Sunday morning after his iceberg set from SNL. And this isn’t the first time that the comic has flooded the internet with his comebacks.
