The divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was a huge piece of heartbreaking news. The A-list ex-couple filed for divorce in 2016, just after two years of marriage. Their divorce took years to get through but both the actors are legally single now. Now coming to their custody battle for their six children, on March 12th, Jolie filed for spousal abuse.
Reportedly, this was both shocking and upsetting to Brad Pitt as he never expected his ex-wife, Angeline Jolie to take the other way. According to Jolie’s documents she and her kids are willing to testify against Pitt. Days later the Maleficent actress also provided ‘proof and authority in support’ justifying her allegations. This does not come as a big surprise since the eldest Jolie-Pitt son, Maddox has already testified against his father for his case on child abuse. However, Brad Pitt was cleared of the child abuse allegations by both, Department of Child and Family Services and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Brad’s reaction to the allegations
Gaining custody of their kids is always a disaster one way or another. Sources close to Pitt told Page Six, “Brad is heartbroken that Angelina has gone that route. There’s a lot of emotion left after their marriage. He has taken responsibility for his actions and owned up to his past issues, he’s stopped drinking. The marriage was very passionate and toxic at times and they had fights, but also shared many good times together.”
The source continued to talk about the emotional state of Brad Pitt due to the allegations placed by Angelina Jolie, “He talked about his drink and drug problems during the time they were together … Brad and his camp has never attacked Angelina. But his camp feels this leak was calculated to sway opinion ahead of the conclusion of their trial. Brad feels like he’s being more and more isolated from his children, and he’s devastated about it”
The ruling decision, in this case, is being made by a private judge, the one who Jolie tried to remove from the case multiple times previously. Brad wants 50-50 legal and physical custody rights with the Jolie-Pitt children.
