Brie Larson reveals details about her upcoming movie, Captain Marvel 2
In a recent interview with SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, actress Brie Larson talked about Captain Marvel 2, the sequel of her 2019 hit ‘Captain Marvel,’ which will premiere in 2022. The 31-year-old star, who will be reviving her role in this upcoming MCU movie as Captain Marvel a.k.a. Carol Danvers, revealed that the fans will get to see a lot of Juicy things in her upcoming film. However, Larson was just not yet allowed to disclose any further information but she feels that the MCU fans will be very excited about the film.
“Gosh, so much going on, a lot of really juicy things happening that I cannot say a word about,” she said. “But, boy oh boy, is it good. And you’re going to be very excited about it.” Brie Larson’s 2019 ‘Captain Marvel,’ was Marvel Studios’ first female-led film and the second-best opening for an origin story, which collected an amount of $153 million on the opening weekend in North America after Black Panther’s $202 million debut in 2018. The movie was a super hit among MCU fans and they are now waiting for the release of its sequel, ‘Captain Marvel 2,’ premiering November 11, 2022.
In this sequel, Brie will be joined by Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, the role she recently played in Hotstar plus series WandVision. The cast will also include Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel a.k.a. Kamala Khan, Samuel L. Jackson reviving his role as the infamous Nick Fury, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-Joon. The storyline has not been disclosed yet other than the fact that it takes place in the present day. Captain Marvel 2 is directed by Nia DaCosta, who is the first Black woman to direct a Marvel film.
Brie Larson also talked about working with Nia in the sequel of Captain Marvel during her interview. “She’s amazing. She’s so awesome and cool and clear,” Larson said. “The thing that I loved about her too, she gave the best pitch. That’s the thing that I love about it, she just came in, was ready, had such an incredible take on this story and this film. And I’m so happy that she’s guiding this. I’m thrilled, ” she added.
Earlier in May, many reports claimed that Larson is slowly leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which broke her fans’ hearts as they wanted her to come back as Captain Marvel. However, “Kong: Skull Island” alum has confirmed her return with SiriusXM’s interview. She also revealed her experience on the sets of this upcoming sequel. “They’re unlike anything else. Huge sets. Huge amounts of people on set. Lots of specialists,” Larson said. “It’s a really unique experience. I’m a huge fan of Disneyland, so to me it feels like I get to go to my own private Disneyland every single day.”
