Brie Larson Thanks Olivia Rodrigo For The Words She Gave To The World

Captain Marvel can sing too!

Brie Larson posted a video singing “Jealousy, Jealousy” by Olivia Rodrigo

Brie Larson has recently paid a soulful tribute to the ‘Drivers License’ fame Olivia Rodrigo. Our very own Captain Marvel decided to take out her electric guitar on a beautiful Monday morning and gave her fans an alluring cover of Rodrigo’s song, “Jealousy, Jealousy” from her debut album ‘Sour.’ Brie posted a video of herself singing the song and captioned it, “Thank you @oliviarodrigo for giving the world your words.”

The Marvel star got multiple compliments from her fans as she sang, “I kinda wanna throw my phone across the room / ‘Cause all I see are girls too good to be true / With paper-white teeth and perfect bodies / Wish I didn’t care,” she continued with the chorus, “I’d rather be, rather be / Anyone, anyone else / But jealousy, jealousy / Started followin’ me / Started followin’ me.”

Well, it seems, just like many of us, the Oscar-winning actress, Brie Larson is a big fan of our ‘heartbreak queen’ Olivia Rodrigo. However, this is not the only time when the ‘Room’ star has shown the world her singing skills. Larson also had a brief singing career back in 2005 when she released her own album “Finally Out of P.E..” Although, it was not a big hit.

However, last week, Billboard announced that her rendition of Metric’s “Black Sheep” is on the charts almost after 16 years since it came out, and well Brie has certainly reminded the world that she can still sing.

Just like Brie Larson, the ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series ‘ star, Olivia Rodrigo, also started her music career at a young age. The 18-year-old singer debuted with ‘Driver License’ this year at just the age of 17 and the song caught the attention of the world as soon as it was released. Recently, Rodrigo has dropped her first-ever album ‘Sour’ which broke Spotify’s record for the most streams in an opening week for an album by a female artist. The album is absolutely wonderful and trending since day one everywhere.

She has no problem in being the ‘Breakup Queen’

In a recent interview with PEOPLE Olivia Rodrigo shared how she feels about her career and her songs right now. “I’m just constantly learning and growing at such a rapid rate,” she said. “I’m writing songs and I’m really happy. I’m a lot happier than I was when I wrote that record, which is great. I’m a lot more confident, which I think is a good aspect of growing up,” she added. When asked about how she feels being a ‘heartbreak queen’ as all her songs hint towards the topic, she explained: “I feel like if a girl writes a song about heartbreak, very often people start criticizing her for feeling those emotions, and only writing about that.”

“I do just love a heartbreak song. I literally wrote breakup songs before I ever held a boy’s hand. So, who knows? Maybe I’ll continue to do that, or maybe I’ll branch out? I just love writing music, and I hope that people continue to listen.”

Rodrigo also talked about her thoughts on people who always try to speculate who are these songs about. “How people perceive it, or speculate about who it’s about or whatever, that really just has nothing to do with me. My only job is to write songs that I really love, and that’s what I try to work from,” she said.
