Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Jason Alexander, revealed some shocking details about her life and their marriage.
Childhood friends Jason Alexander and Britney Spears tied the knot in Las Vegas back in 2004.
The whole situation was quite shocking. They got married at 5:30 am in the morning. Britney wore ripped jeans, a crop top, and a baseball hat for her wedding. Jason too was dressed casually, wearing jeans.
Their marriage became the subject of jokes for another reason. Just 55 hours after their wedding, they filed for an annulment.
Reportedly, Britney’s team was behind this decision. The singer had just given the blockbuster album, Toxic, and ending the marriage seemed to be the only way to protect her fame.
In a recent interview, Alexander shed light on the matter and their controversial marriage.
Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander calls her conservatorship a “nightmare”
Speaking to Mail Online, Jason said the end of the marriage was a sign of the darker things that were about to happen. “What they did to Britney and me should have rung warning bells.”
Jason said that the “controlling forces” troubling Britney presently had a strong grip on her even back in the day.
Speaking about the annulment, he said, “The men in black swooped in, along with her mum and other family members, and they made us sign paperwork under duress to end our marriage. We didn’t want to annul it. They lied to us. It was always about controlling Britney and controlling her money.”
He revealed exactly what happened. “We were told that if we still felt the same way about each other in six months, then we could have a big, white wedding. They strung me along for 30 days, which was how long it took to get the annulment finalized, so I couldn’t contest it, and then they changed Britney’s number so I couldn’t talk to her.”
“There have always been dark forces in her life,” he added.
The details about Britney Spears’ conservatorship and her life before never fail to shock us.
“She’s been living a nightmare far worse than anyone can imagine for far longer than people realize,” Jason said.
If Jason’s claims are true, then the way Britney’s PR team addressed the talk around the marriage was far from pleasant.
“Britney and a friend took a joke too far,” they said in a statement said back then.
