Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson Takes An Interest In Archery

She’s a natural.

Brie Larson has taken up archery as a new hobby. The Captain Marvel star, 31, shared photos of herself practising in a big field and posing with her target on Twitter on Thursday. Larson captioned the photos, “My hobby appears to be taking up new hobbies.”

Larson also shared a close-up shot of her target after practise on her Instagram Story, captioning it with three upside-down smiley face emojis. (At least once, according to the photo, she hit the bullseye.)

On Instagram, followers including Reese Witherspoon and Ally Love of Peloton grabbed interest in Brie Larson’s new hobby, archery.

In the comments section, Witherspoon exclaimed, “Wait!! What??!!,” while newlywed Love gave three “fire” emojis.

Others quipped that Larson’s new abilities could rival those of another Avenger. “My queen is both Hawkeye and Captain Marvel, the power,” one admirer wrote on Instagram, referring to Jeremy Renner’s character Hawkeye, a master archer.

Despite the fact that Brie Larson appears to be having a good time in the beautiful outdoors, target archery is a serious sport.

According to World Archery’s official website, participants must fire at stationary circular targets set at particular distances, which could be approximately 300 feet away. Target archery is a sport that has been recognised at both the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Brie Larson plays Captain Marvel (a.k.a. Carol Danvers) in a post-credit scene in Simu Liu’s upcoming Marvel feature Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which will be released on September 3. The Marvels, a sequel to the first Captain Marvel film, is currently in production.

The Oscar winner stated on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show earlier this month. “Gosh, so much going on, a lot of really juicy things happening that I cannot say a word about. But, boy oh boy, is it good. And you’re going to be very excited about it.”

The Marvels, which will premiere on November 11, 2022, will carry on the storyline started in Marvel Studios’ first female-led movie, which grossed over $1 billion at the box office.

Larson has been keeping busy in recent months as she prepares to reprise her role as Carol Danvers in next year’s film The Marvels. The actress is sweating the days away — literally — as summer 2021 winds down, whether she’s electronically checking in on buddy Tracee Ellis Ross or pounding sets of Bulgarian split squats.
