Catherine Zeta-Jones shared a sweet tribute for her daughter, Carys Zeta Douglas on the occasion of her 18th birthday.
The Oscar-winning actress shared a throwback photo of herself and Carys alongside a present-day snap of the teen in a swimsuit.
“Happy 18th Birthday Carys Zeta! You are everything, and everything is you,” Catherine wrote in the caption. “Thank you for the joy you bring me. At 5 am this morning, you texted me to thank me, for giving birth to you. That’s the kind of woman you are. Kind.”
Catherine also shared a screenshot of their conversation where she said giving birth to Carys and not receiving the Oscar was her “proudest moment”.
“Your wisdom out numbers your years,” the mum continued. “Your beauty is deep and your heart is big enough to love and envelop the world, your sense of humor……very important…. is insurmountable. I could go on.”
“Your Japanese needs some work, but that’s doable,” she quipped. “I love you angel. Mama.”
Carys Zeta Douglas had the sweetest response to her mother’s post. “I love you my mamma! Thank you for all that you do❤️❤️❤️” she commented.
Not only Catherine Zeta-Jones, but Michael Douglas also took to Instagram to wish their daughter the best birthday. “Honey, this is your Dad,” began Michael, 76. “Wishing you the best 18th birthday any young lady could possibly have.”
“You know how much I love you, how proud I am of you, and the joy I have watching you grow into the young lady you are turning out to be! Happy birthday, Carys! I love you! Dad.”
Catherine Zeta-Jones revealed her daughter might pursue acting
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas share two kids together, daughter Carys and son Dylan Michael Douglas.
“The journey I’ve had as an actor has been extraordinary,” the Chicago actress said. “So I can only encourage them to do what they love. They’re both extremely bright and they’re both studying history and politics. And they get all their brains from me,” she said jokingly.
However, she said that she and her husband also tell their children to explore more career options given the pressures that come with stardom.
“But that said, Michael and I would be the first parents to say, ‘You know, maybe you should think of another career,’ but we’ve seen how passionate they are about the craft. They know what celebritydom is. They know the good, the bad, warts and all of that,” she said.
