Chris Hemsworth is definitely feeling the heat for his next Thor franchise movie Thor: Love and Thunder. The film has been in production for less than a year and the cast has shot some iconic scenes as seen from the pictures.
Along with the Thor movie cast, the Avenger is also joined by the Guardians of the Galaxy cast for Thor 4. There has also been a return of some beloved characters from the Thor franchise like Jane Foster who will probably wield Thor’s hammer. Chris Hemsworth’s Thor: Love and Thunder is all set to release in February 2022.
Chris Hemsworth has exciting nervous energy for Thor 4
In a recent interview with GQ Australia, Chris Hemsworth said that he is feeling the pressure to play Thor again. In Avengers: Endgame, he had given up Asgard and had gone with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Hence, it would be interesting to see Thor’s journey in this fourth edition of his character.
“There’s that same — if not more — pressure now to do that again. So there’s a little bit of exciting nervous energy that is motivating all of us to reach a little further and make sure we’re covering all bases and approaching the scene from every angle,” he said.
‘New challenges’ is the way to go for the actor
He also explained his desire to take up “new challenges” and said that he always wants to learn from them. Hemsworth also told how important is the director and cast to him, now, after 15 years of working.
“It’s all about looking for new challenges, you know? I’ve been working for 15 years now and there was a period when anything and everything was new and exciting, and the hardest thing was saying ‘no’ because you wanted to keep working.”
“Now you want to deepen the approach and think ‘does this feel familiar, is this unique territory for me, have I played this character before, who’s the director, who’s the cast, is this a collaboration that I feel I’m going to learn from?’ Any time it feels too familiar or too comfortable, I find my interest not being piqued.”
The actor now wants to play the role that scares the hell out of him. Also, one that forces him to expand and evolve, work harder, learn more. Taika Waititi is directing Thor: Love and Thunder, he had earlier worked with Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Ragnarok. The movie was highly appreciated by fans across the world and made a total of $854 million on the box office.
Chris Pratt is funny, inspiring, and intimidating
Chris Hemsworth also talked about working with Chris Pratt on the sets of Thor: Love and Thunder. He said that the actor’s improvisation skills are apart from everyone.
“The guy is wildly impressive with the spontaneity and the humour and the things he comes up with. It’s both funny, inspiring and intimidating.”
