Chris Hemsworth Thor Shares Selfie As Thor With Director Taika Waititi

“They really squeezed the budget for the official Thor: Love & Thunder poster”

Thor Love & Thunder seems to be getting close to wrapping its principal photography. Giving us a glimpse of the fun behind the scenes, Chris Hemsworth shared a cheeky selfie in his Thor avatar.

Looking slightly different from our usually hunked superhero, Hemsworth joked that Marvel Studios scaled back its budget for promotional materials for the feature. However, his locks and a fancy new Love and Thunder cap confirmed his avatar as Thor Odinson. Alongside, 45-year-old Kiwi director Taika posed for the selfie in a pair of trendy sunglasses.

Sharing the selfie Chris wrote, “They really squeezed the budget for the official Thor: Love & Thunder poster, but the message if clear, plenty of love and plenty of thunder. Album drops soon…again…”

Also tagging Taika and the Marvel Studios official page, he added a heart and a thunder emoji.

Again? He’s referring to another cool picture he posted last week with Taika and co-star Matt Damon.

Speaking about the project back in 2019, Taika Waititi told Entertainment Weekly, “The next Thor film I’m doing, basically, we’re sort of launching ourselves again on this adventure film, really. That was the thing really that I loved about doing Ragnarok, it felt like we were just putting Thor on a really cool adventure.”

“There’s always like new things to see and do, and this one, I think we’re gonna double down a lot on that and have it bigger, bolder and brighter. There’s just gonna be some really crazy stuff in the film.”

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Love & Thunder is expecting a release next year.

Chris Hemsworth is celebrating Ten Years of Thor

Earlier this week, Chris, 37, reflected upon how far his career has come in a decade. Posting a throwback photo of himself and co-star Tom Hiddleston on Instagram, he took a walk down the memory lane. The two can be seen reading their scripts for the first Thor film, that released in 2011.

‘This year marks the 10th anniversary of Thor when two unknown lads were given the keys to the kingdom,’ Chris shared writing in the caption. ‘It’s been a hell of a ride and we clearly haven’t aged a day.’ Alongside the throwback photo, he also shared a Vulture article written in 2009.

Ahead of their casting in 2011’s Thor, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston were practically unknown to American audiences. Viewing their casting as a major gamble by Marvel, the article referred the two as “no name actors.” Fast forward ten years, Chris is remembering the assertion with a very cool throwback post.

Ultimately, we can unanimously agree the decision went perfectly in favor of the cinematic universe. Both Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are considered some of the most beloved characters in the MCU.
