Chrissy Teigen and John Legend had a blast at the US President Joe Biden’s inauguration, but it looks like some people were not happy with the couple attending the event physically.
John Legend was given the opportunity alongside other artists to perform at the 46th US President Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony held in Washington D.C. yesterday. This allowed him to bring his wife, Chrissy Teigen, and their two beautiful children along with them.
Chrissy Teigen, who is currently in a healing process, captured her family’s experience at the historically significant moment of the Joe Biden inauguration.
The 35-year-old former model shared a series of pictures on her Instagram and Twitter, with the first one being a coincidental photoshoot as the couple met the National Guard after getting lost on their way to John Legend’s soundcheck for his performance on the eve of Joe Biden’s inauguration. Chrissy Teigen mentioned in the caption that she was in awe of meeting the soldiers.
“lmao we got lost on the way to soundcheck but I just got to meet these f***ing actual heroes!!!”
After which, she posted a picture of her posing in front of the Washington Monument and captioned it with her outlook on Donald Trump stepping down as the President after losing the elections to Joe Biden. Let’s just say that it ended up being a roast of the former US President.
“today our great national f***up is over, but the shame will last forever. with 2 impeachments, the creation of 3 million LESS jobs, 403,000 dead, a record low approval rating and god knows how many crimes, we can officially say Donald J Trump is the greatest at being the f****ng worst. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to have the guy with barely enough well done steak with ketchup fueled brainpower to power a lightbulb who doesn’t even know how to close an umbrella run the country. History will not be kind to you, you absolute psychopath. But I never was anyhow.”
On the day of Joe Biden’s inauguration, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend posted a picture of them kissing in front of the iconic Abraham Lincoln statue.
Chrissy Teigen also shared wholesome pics of her whole family standing in front of the Washington Monument with their kids- Luna and Miles sitting on their parents’ shoulders.
Why were Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Criticised?
Both Chrissy Teigen and John Legend faced heavy criticism on Twitter for physically attending the Joe Biden inauguration and not taking care of the current COVID-19 situation by having John Legend perform virtually.
With people claiming that since no one was allowed to witness John Legend perform at the Joe Biden inauguration in-person, then why couldn’t he have performed it virtually.
Chrissy responded to the criticism by saying that it is not her fault for the current conditions.
What was the John Legend performance at the Joe Biden Inauguration?
John Legend was given the honourable opportunity to sing at Joe Biden’s Inauguration and he killed it. Before his performance, Chrissy Teigen shared a video of her and the family hyping John as he made his way to the stage.
For Joe Biden’s inauguration, John Legend sang his rendition of the all-time classic song “Feeling Good,” which was originally sung by Nina Simone in 1965, and the song felt all the more powerful on the special occasion of the inauguration.
