Dakota Johnson is disclosing intimate information about her relationship with Chris Martin.
In an interview with Elle UK, The Lost Daughter actress, 32, revealed details about her romance with Martin, 44. Johnson said she and Coldplay’s singer have a “cozy” and “private” relationship, though she wouldn’t go into details.
“We’ve been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cozy and private,” she said to Elle. “Most of the partying takes place inside my house,” Dakota added of the couple’s favourite leisure pursuits.
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin began dating in 2017, when they were first seen on a sushi date in Los Angeles.
They moved in together after three years of seeing each other and resided in Martin’s Malibu mansion, which he just sold to buy another home in the region.
Martin has remained close to his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares two children. According to a February article by People, he and Johnson have dined with Paltrow and her husband on Sundays in Los Angeles.
At the time, a source told People, “It’s obvious that everyone still gets along great.”
Paltrow, 49, revealed her relationship with Johnson to Harper’s Bazaar in January 2020, saying she “loves” having Johnson in her life.
She added at the time, “I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign — what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There’s so much juice in leaning in to something like that.”
Despite the fact that Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have previously fueled engagement rumours, the couple has yet to formally announce their plans to marry. Dakota’s father, Don Johnson, was recently asked by Good Day New York if his daughter will ever marry Martin.
He replied, “Oh god. I don’t think much further than about the next seven or eight seconds.”
Don continued, “But listen, if she’s happy, I will be happy, and he’s a lovely guy. And if she decides to get married, I would imagine that there would be grandchildren not too far out for that. I’d be pretty excited about that part.”
