On July 4, 1999, Manchester United footie ace David Beckham and Spice Girl star Victoria Adams tied the knot at Luttrellstown Castle on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland, becoming one of the hottest couples in the celebrity world. And this weekend, they complete 21 years of togetherness with romance splashed all over their social media pages.
The couple on Saturday, took to Instagram to share unseen photographs from the past whilst expressing their love for each other. Reminiscing the moment when he first laid eyes on his now-wife, David shared how 23 years ago, the Spice Girl “one in the little black catsuit” stole his heart.
In a similar post, Victoria paying a tribute to him expressed how she loves him more each day.
David & Victoria Beckham shares 4 children together, and the love for their parents shows how much they are in awe of them. Wishing them on their anniversary, Brooklyn and Cruz Beckham shared their parent’s wedding pictures dipped in love.
Since 1999, this inseparable couple has been setting goals for millions, especially when it comes to celebrity couples with their lists of break-ups and flings. Let’s take a tour through this beautiful couple’s love story from the time they met.
While David was smitten with Victoria the instant he laid eyes on her, it was at a charity football match in 1997 when they met for the first time. Not only was he in awe of her present-day lady love, so was she. For an interview for a soccer magazine, Victoria was shown photos of different footballers, and she “had no idea who he was,” but she, “remembered thinking one word- gorgeous.’ Shortly after, the couple met at the charity football match and the cupid struck. On a series of low-key dates, they began to see each other regularly.
Finally, it was on January 25, 1998, when David got on his knees and popped the question to Victoria. He slipped a three-carat marquise-cut ring from Boodle and Dunthorpe on Victoria’s finger.
Every marriage has its set of ups and downs, but the secret to a great marriage lies in fighting for each other rather than for the conflicts that arise along the way. And just like that, talking about the realities of marriage, David on an Australian TV show The Sunday Project shared, “To have been married for the amount of time that we have, it’s always hard work. It becomes a little more complicated.”
The couple is very much still going strong and we wish them a blissful married life for years to come.
