Talk about #TBT’s – close friends Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton just dropped the ultimate #TBT 2020 we’ve been waiting for. Giving a taste of nostalgia to all their fans, the divas have teamed up to launch Kim’s newest collection of velour tracksuits for her SKIMS Velour Collection.
When one thinks about celebrities rocking tracksuits, your memory takes you right back to the time when Paris Hilton sported the look right from airports, nightclubs, to paid appearances, with paparazzi capturing her every move. In an interview with Vogue last year, she shared that tracksuits “became my uniform”. Especially Juicy Couture tracksuits, which became synonymous with Hilton.
And so, when the launch of SKIMS Velour tracksuit collection came, who better could Kim get on board?
Launching on October 21 (on Kim’s birthday), the brand’s new collection featuring classic velour silhouettes includes hoodies, wide-leg pants, and joggers. In addition, the collection also introduces bandeau tops and crew neck tanks incorporating the 2020 neutral coluor palette with size available up to 4X.
“The iconic velour tracksuits have been a staple in my closet for close to 20 years!” Kim told Vogue, calling her new SKIMS version “the perfect blend of 2000s nostalgia and present-day loungewear.”
“I’m living in sweatsuits right now. The [SKIMS] collection is perfect for looking hot while being comfy,” added Hilton.
Posting a mini-documentary of their photoshoot journey on Instagram, Kim wrote, “A year in the making, @SKIMS Velour is my most anticipated launch yet! A reinvention of the iconic 2000s trend, this luxe collection will carry you through Fall – indoors and outside.
Dropping on Wednesday, October 21 at 9AM PT / 12PM ET in 7 new styles, 4 colours, and sizes XXS – 4X exclusively at SKIMS.COM. Join the waitlist now to receive early access to shop before Velour sells out.”
Reminiscing old days..
Back in the day, when Kim Kardashian wasn’t a household name, she was working for her famous friend Paris Hilton as her assistant. Their friendship kickstarted the now megastars rise to fame.
Recalling one of the greatest lessons she learned from the multi-hyphenated businesswoman Paris Hilton back in the days, Kim shared, “We were in Germany, and you had a photoshoot. We landed, and just by being around you —there are two things I think you really taught me.”
“When you were doing a photoshoot, you had them bring a big mirror behind the camera so that you could watch yourself. I don’t request that enough, but it is the best idea in the entire world. And when I have it, you can just be yourself and see what you look like in the mirror through the camera instead of pretending [to know] what you look like,” Kim added.
