Dua Lipa is well-known among the fashion set for her great style, in addition to her impressive music career. From her Y2K-inspired ensembles (such as halterneck shirts and waterfall hem dresses) to her great red carpet resume, the Cosmo fashion staff would want to raid her closet. Dua has stepped out in yet another covetable style for one of her recent appearances, but this time it’s a noteworthy difference from her nostalgic party ‘fits, this time repping an exceedingly elegant (and 100 percent professional) workday ensemble.
Dua Lipa and the crew attended a screening of a Kosovan film in Washington, DC on Wednesday.
Dua was spotted out and about in Washington, DC earlier this week for a screening of the film Hive.
The singer wore all black, including a turtleneck sweater tucked into a long flowy maxi skirt with a belted waist. An oversized blazer placed over the top and a pair of shiny black boots peeking out from beneath the hem completed the ensemble.
It’s a clearly different look from what we’ve come to expect from Dua, but what can we say? She’s a fashion chameleon, and we’re dying to wear this outfit to work this winter.
Dua Lipa opted for a classic feline eyeliner flick and a splash of bronze-toned lipstick in the photos, with her hair down. She later took to social media to praise Blerta Basholli’s Albanian language film. The film depicts the experiences of women who have lost loved ones in the war.
“Last night at the screening of HIVE @hive.film – A beautiful film which tells the touching and inspiring story of Fahrije Hoti and the women of Krusha,” Dua captioned a video of herself wearing her outfit on Instagram. “This story of struggle and perseverance is one that needed to be told. It speaks to the soul of the Kosovan experience and I hope it can help with the collective healing of families who were separated and people who lost their loved ones. I’m so proud of what Blerta Basholli @blertabb has achieved – it’s such an inspiration. HIVE swept the board at Sundance and i’m looking forward to hopefully seeing it take on the Oscars!!! A MUST-SEE!!!”
So there you have it: wardrobe inspiration and a film recommendation in one.
