Dwayne Johnson confirms the commencement of Black Adam filming

Word just came in that Dwayne Johnson has apparently started filming for new DC number, Black Adam. The actor took to his Instagram on Saturday to share this news with his fans.

Dwayne Johnson shared a picture of the clapboard from Black Adam’s set which marks his first day of the shoot. “History in the making, extremely excited and what a humbling moment to share with you. Officially kicking off DAY 1 of filming our BLACK ADAM. Our Director and maestro, Jaume Collet-Serra. Our Academy Award nominee (Joker), Director of Photography, Lawrence Sher. We have an all-star production crew – incredibly talented, galvanized, committed, and focused to raise the bar and deliver something SPECIAL for the world,” he wrote in the caption for his Instagram post.

The filming for Black Adam comes after a lot of obstacles since last year, as the shooting got halted due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. At a point, fans almost gave up expecting for the movie to commence with its filming. However, Dwayne Johnson’s reassurance that the cameras have finally started rolling for the new Black Adam movie brings a ray of hope in the fans.

When will Black Adam get released?

Previously in March, Dwayne Johnson also took it upon himself to reveal the release date of the Black Adam movie. According to him, the movie has gotten the release date of June 29, 2022.


Dwayne Johnson, who although plays the role of the anti-hero character to the DC hero, Shazam!, in the titular movie ‘Black Adam’, is also loved by the people of America as the star recently topped the list of celebs who people think should be the next President of the United States.

A little bit on the cast and crew of the movie

Apart from Dwayne Johnson, Black Adam will also include a lot of other renowned stars in its cast. According to Variety, Pierce Brosnan is set to play the role of the DC sorcerer Dr. Fate along with Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. The movie is also a spinoff to 2019`s `Shazam! Which is reportedly also getting a sequel titled, `Shazam! The Fury Of The Gods`.
