Elon Musk Promises To Behave On SNL In This Week’s Trailer

“There’s no telling what I might do”

Elon Musk has promised to behave while hosting The Saturday Night Live on Sunday, May 8. And we’re excited to see how he keeps up to this promise.

Elon Musk will be making his debut with a hosting stint on Saturday Night Live. Teasing his appearance, The Tesla Motors CEO joked in the new trailer, “I’m a wild card, so there’s no telling what I might do.” Appearing alongside as this week’s musical guest, Miley Cyrus, joined in, saying, “Rules? No thanks.”

SNL cast member Cecily Strong joined in reminding the two that Mother’s Day is this weekend, and therefore their moms will be in attendance. Elon Musk and Miley Cyrus then begrudgingly admitted they’d rather be “good-ish.”

Also in the trailer, the three banter over their accomplishments from the week. Musk took the chance to quip he had a  “successful rocket launch.”

Post the announcement of his hosting duties, Musk had quickly taken to his social media asking suggestions for his skit. Which one was picked? we’d have to wait to see.

Musk’s promise in the SNL Trailer looks a little suspicious after he already created a buzz with his name appearing in the name of hosts.

Being one of the more controversial hosts SNL has welcomed to its stage in recent years, Musk received a lot of criticism since his name was announced by NBC. Recently, Musk is receiving a lot of criticism for his anti-union sentiments, his online trolling, and spreading misinformation about the COVID-19.

Few cast members like Chris Redd and Bowen Yang too did not hold back from expressing their discontent either. “What the **** does this even mean?”; show writer Andrew Dismukes posted on Instagram: “Only CEO I want to do a sketch with is Cher-E Oteri.”

Fans of Miley Cyrus didn’t take her friendly vibe with Elon Musk too well either. Miley’s post promoting their skit received some mixed reactions over the internet.

With all the criticism, Elon Musk is surely walking on egg shells here. Whatever happens we hope we’re in for an hilarious ride.

The SNL episode with Musk and Cyrus airs this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC.
