Emilia Clarke has a new theory
Emilia Clarke, who played the role of Daenerys Targaryen on the HBO fantasy series ‘Game Of Thrones’ , has apparently changed her claim of who might be behind the infamous coffee cup snafu. It’s almost been 2 years since the series finale premiered but still, a question remains in the minds of GOT fans, “Who put Starbuck’s coffee cup on the table?” In the episode “The Last of the Starks” from season 8, a scene which included Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and the Mother of Dragons (Emilia Clarke), a modern-day coffee cup was spotted on the table. Since then it has been the biggest controversy of, “Who bought Starbucks in Winterfell?”
Throughout the years, all of the cast members kept pointing at each other be it, Emilia, Sophie, or Kit, however, the main suspects in the begging were Daenerys and Jon. Emilia Clarke on the other hand had a different theory about the culprit back then, “Here’s the truth: We had a party before the Emmys recently, and Conleth [Hill], who plays Varys—who’s sitting next to me in that scene—he pulls me aside and he’s like, ‘Emilia, I have got to tell you something, love. The coffee cup was mine,’” she said on The Tonight Show in October 2019. “It was his! It was Conleth’s coffee cup! He said so. He said, ‘I think it was. I am sorry, darling. I didn’t want to say anything because it seemed the heat was very much on you.’”
However, now it looks like she has changed her answer. When Emilia Clarke was asked about her favorite coffee during a recent interview with theSkimm’s “Texting With” digital series, “It’s not Starbucks – spoiler,” she replied. “I’m going to say it again for the record: was not mine. Looking at you, Dan Weiss.”
Dan Weiss served as the co-creator and showrunner of Game of Thrones along with David Benioff.
The scene she wants to change
Talking further about the series, Clarke was also asked about a scene that she would like to change in the whole series. And you might be aware of her answer, as it can be the same as most of you. Emilia revealed that it’s the scene in which her character, Daenerys Targaryen, was killed by her love, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington. It was indeed one of the most painful scenes to watch, as most of the fans expected Emilia’s character to win the iron throne. It was definitely an unexpected turn. However, the fans will now soon be able to enjoy a spin-off series of ‘Game Of Thrones’, which will probably premiere in 2022.
