The first teaser trailer for Pam & Tommy, which was released on Wednesday, finally showcased Lily James and Sebastian Stan’s outstanding portrayals of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee.
Lily James and Sebastian Stan play a celebrity couple at the peak of their success shortly after their 1995 wedding, with their transformation being widely publicized before the film’s release – mainly due to their stunning and completely unrecognizable new looks.
The teaser mostly focuses on Seth Rogen’s supporting role as a disgruntled electrician who stole their s** tape and published the nasty movie online, resulting in one of the first ever ‘s** tape scandals,’ which paved the door for similar incidents involving Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian.
Pamela appears heartbroken as she watches the footage, which is being sold online for $59.99 with the tagline ‘Pamela’s Hardcore S** Video,’ with fans treated to glimpses of her hot and heavy action, including a romp in the bath with her husband and scenes of the couple on a boat.
The teaser begins with Seth and Nick Offerman of Parks and Recreation going over the goods stolen from Pam and Tommy’s home, including the intriguing contents of a safe they had snatched.
They open the safe and find a weird video cassette, which they expect to contain personal footage of the couple.
They cut to footage of Sebastian as Tommy Lee strutting around his house and then driving a muscle car, which isn’t on the actual s** tape.
‘That’s Tommy Lee,’ Seth reveals, ‘He’s the drummer for Mötley Crüe,’ before the thrilled duo see Pamela while fastforwarding to the steamy scenes that would go on to become iconic.
Seth’s character, however, is spotted hiding in a blue van as he drives away, scoping out the property and plotting his crime.
‘Where’d you get this?’ Nick inquires in voiceover, but the renowned stoner simply tells him to keep fast-forwarding.
He’s then seen sneaking inside the house in the dead of night, returning with a large black safe on wheels, in super-fast sped-up footage.
Pam & Tommy also features Taylor Schilling from Orange Is the New Black, as well as Pepi Sonuga and Andrew Dice Clay. Craig Gillespie, who directed 2017’s I, Tonya — which also starred Stan — directed three of the series’ eight episodes.
Pam & Tommy starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan arrives on Hulu on February 2nd.
