Fitness Icon, Jason Momoa Says ‘He’d Rather Squat A Car’ Than Do Yoga

“So I tried yoga the other day, and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life”

The December cover of Men’s Health magazine flaunts Jason Momoa looking like a snacc. The Aquaman star while speaking to the publication revealed how he’s been staying fit over the quarantine.

His lockdown workout regime included yoga with wife, Lisa Bonet but to his displeasure, he found it very difficult. Despite previously practicing Yoga back in 2011 for his role as the robust Cimmerian warrior, Conan in the movie Conan the Barbarian, Momoa said that “climbing El Capitan would be easier than doing two hours of Yoga and he’d “rather squat a car”. Damn! Those sure are some muscly thighs and testifying what we see, the 41 year old revealed he can’t bend over anymore because his “hamstrings are so tight”.

He remembered he didn’t have it easy back when shooting for Conan the Barbarian too, adding, “I remember one time I was all yoked out for Conan the Barbarian, and I was in a yoga class with all these older ladies in Topanga and everyone was just holding their arms up and I was like, ‘This is so hard!’’. If it’s hard for the great Khal Drogo, who’re we to oppose?

Then what’s the secret of Jason Momoa’s Herculean physique?

“It’s just genetics,” Momoa told the magazine before talking about his home town and penchant for rock climbing. “Hawaiians are big people. I rock climb a lot. Maybe I’m an ape. I love the way it feels. I like being upside down. I always loved climbing trees as a kid and swinging in the breeze. But lifting weights is challenging,” the Game Of Thrones actor said.

Jason Momoa is starring as Duncan Idaho in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s science fiction novel. The movie’s theatrical release was scheduled for December 18 but owing to the Coronavirus pandemic and complications arising due to Wonder Woman 1984 arriving only a week later on Christmas Day. Warner Bros and Legendary thought best and now, the movie is slated to release on October 1st 2021. The film boasts of an amazing cast including the likes of Timothèe Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Oscar Isaac, Javier Bardem and more.
