‘Friends’ alum Matthew Perry is quite on a roll these days after keeping a low profile on social media this year. The actor surprised his fans with not just one but two exciting reveals.
Popular for his role as Chandler Bing in the sitcom Friends, Matthew Perry, 51, got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Molly Hurwitz, 29, last month. Confirming the news to People magazine, Mathew said, “I decided to get engaged. I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet”.
A literary manager, Molly Hurwitz, also confirmed her relationship with the actor this year. Taking on Instagram in February, she wrote, “Second year being my Valentine, but his first as an Instagram influencer. HVD to my favourite”.
On Monday, for the very first time, Matthew Perry introduced Molly to the world in the typical Chandler Bing way.
The ‘Friends’ alum posted two photos of his fiancee on Instagram wearing outfits inspired by his popular character’s dialogues from the 90s sitcom.
While Molly Hurwitz was seen wearing a black T-shirt which had “Could this be any more of t-shirt?” emblazoned on it in the first picture, she wore a black tank top, red plaid shirt, and a black baseball cap which had “What is this, a baseball cap?” printed on it.
The couple seems to be having a lot of fun. A source close to Molly Hurwitz told ET in November, “Matthew and Molly had a connection right off the bat. Molly has stuck by Matthew’s side and supported him throughout their relationship and he greatly appreciates having her in his life and wanted to take things to the next level with an engagement. They are both so happy.”
However, the catch here for the Chandler Bing fans is that the T-shirt and the baseball cap worn by Molly are from Matthew Perry’s limited-edition ‘Friends’ merchandise, which he recently launched.
The apparel line inspired by the 1990s beloved sitcom ‘Friends’ stems from the thought of charity. The proceeds will be donated to the World Health Organisation’s COVID-19 relief fund.
The merchandise line comprising of emblazoned T-shirts, mugs, hoodies, and baseball caps will only be available for two weeks.
“What is this, a limited edition t-shirt for charity? For two weeks only, I’m releasing an apparel collection! Proceeds will support the World Health Organization’s COVID 19 relief efforts. Link in bio. Banana not included (sic),” Perry wrote in the caption.
The actor’s Instagram post modelling his new Friends charity T-shirt also received likes from his co-stars.
Last month, Matthew Perry also revealed that the HBO Max’s reunion special of the cult sitcom, which was delayed due to the pandemic, is being rescheduled to be filmed in March 2021.
“‘Friends’ reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that’s the way I like it,” Perry had tweeted.
