Garrett Hedlund, 37, was arrested in Franklin County, Tennessee, on Saturday, January 23, for public intoxication according to TMZ, with a bond of $2,100 issued for the misdemeanour. He was still in jail at the time of publishing because he had not yet posted bond.
The actor is currently on three years probation for a previous DUI arrest and is due back in court in March.
Garrett Hedlund is also being sued for an automobile accident that occurred the night of his DUI arrest in 2020. The Friday Night Lights star is accused of colliding with another car while driving his Jeep while intoxicated, and attempting to depart the accident scene without contacting an ambulance.
Garrett Hedlund’s latest legal woes came just a few months after his breakup with Emma Roberts.
After a rocky few months in their relationship, the famous couple – who have a 13-month-old boy Rhodes – recently called time on their almost three-year romance.
“It’s sad,” a source stated, “and they are trying their best to co-parent. It’s been hard.”
Rhodes was born in December 2020, after the couple began dating in March 2019.
“Having a newborn in the pandemic has been a lot harder than either of them expected,” the source continued, “but they’re really, really trying their best to figure things out. Garrett totally stepped it up after Emma was still recovering after giving birth. He made sure that their house was stocked with things that Emma liked and needed so she felt comfortable. She’s just starting to get back into a more ‘normal’ routine.”
Garrett Hedlund released his debut music single amid Emma Roberts split news, ostensibly crooning about a turbulent relationship.
“4000 miles to just be still / Was It worth It / I said goodbye and I love you as well / I know you heard it,” the Minnesota native sings on his new single “The Road,” which was released on Friday, January 21. “But the road has ways / Of taking away things that you know / The road has ways / Of saying you’ll stay, but you don’t / The road has ways of making mistakes.”
“I am home now and I haven’t called / I know you’re hurting / I said goodbye and I love you as well / You’re sure you heard it,” the Modern Love star continued in the song.
