George Clooney revealed that his wife, Amal Clooney has just discovered his character of Doug Ross from the TV show “ER,” and she does not approve of his flirty ways in the drama.
George Clooney recently came on the SmartLess podcast, which is hosted by the stars Sean Hayes, Jason Bateman, and Will Arnett.
On the podcast, Clooney revealed that his wife, Amal Clooney is currently watching the 15 seasons long medical drama “ER” and she does not approve of his character of the flirty paediatrician, Doug Ross.
“My wife is watching them now,” said the director and star of “The Midnight Sky”. He added that “it’s getting me in a lot of trouble because I’d forgotten all of the terrible things [his character Doug Ross] was doing picking up on women.”
When the “Ozark” star, Jason Bateman quipped that Amal Clooney might be in an awe of her husband due to the fact that he was the actor who played Doug Ross.
To which George Clooney declined by saying “Yeah, that’s not my wife.”
Who is this character of Doug Ross that George Clooney played?
Doug Ross is one of the lead characters of the Medical Drama “ER”. In the show, the character is a charming paediatrician, who is quick to give in to his anger, and is also battling alcoholism.
And of course, the character was not just seen doing his medical duties, as Doug Ross had the ladies swooning over him in the show. “ER” had a long run from 1994 to 2009 over 15 seasons, but George Clooney left the show in 1999.
George Clooney also talked about the love of his life, Amal Clooney, as the “The Good German” star told Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Hayes that when he saw her for the first time, “she took my breath away.”
“She was brilliant and funny and beautiful and kind,” he praised his wife and added details about their romantic relationship. “I was sort of swept off my feet. We got engaged after a few months and got married within the first year that we met. It surprised me more than probably anybody else in the world—and everybody else was pretty surprised.”
