Paris Hilton is making headlines with her engagement news with the American media personality, DJ, entrepreneur, and socialite boyfriend Carter Reum.
With social media flooded with images of the new couple, Paris Hilton’s engagement was as fancy as it is expected to be. For starters, the images highlight Hilton’s sparkly Retrofete dress featuring a plunging neckline and a high slit. The look was accessorized with a festive Loschy crown and her signature fingerless gloves, which were also blinged for the occasion.
But as glam, as it could get it, it is the emerald-cut diamond showstopper ring on a platinum band that Reum used to pop the question, which stole the limelight.
Paris Hilton’s Engagement Ring
The high-end ring includes one large emerald-cut center stone, accompanied by two side diamonds designed by jeweler Jean Dousset — the great-great-grandson of famed French jeweler Louis Cartier.
According to the site, Dousset was influenced by classical and Art Nouveau motifs, as well as the vaulted glass ceiling at Paris’ Grand Palais. While no further details were provided by the brand, Shannon Delany-Ron, the director of communications at jewelry retailer JamesAllen.com, estimates the ring to be a whopping 10 carats. The custom ring speaks volumes about the kind of work gone behind designing its concept.
Doing something which is not done anytime before by a celebrity, Hilton shared a video on her YouTube channel giving fans a sneak peek at the design process behind the gorgeous custom ring via a hand-painted sketch highlighting the intricate details.
Announcing her engagement to entrepreneur Carter Reum in her social media post on Wednesday, Paris Hilton said on her website that the proposal was everything she had “dreamed of”.
Speaking of engagement rings, of late, the emerald has long been a popular cut of choice. The classic shape has been spotted on the ring fingers of celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Amal Clooney. And even more recently, model Nicola Peltz also received an emerald-cut engagement ring, courtesy of fiancé Brooklyn Beckham, in July.
Besides the above-mentioned celebrities, the popular cut has also been added to The Bachelorette’s Tayshia Adams jewelry box, who received an emerald-cut diamond ring with a total of 95 diamonds on it from Zac Clark in December.
This month turns out to be a special one for Paris Hilton, as she has not only stepped into the next chapter with her boyfriend Carter Reum, but the diva also rang in her 40th birthday.
As Carter Reum popped the question to Paris Hilton, the happy couple was joined by their families, including Hilton’s sister, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, and Reum’s brother, Courtney Reum.
