When the world was busy gasping in wonder as Gigi Hadid was setting the runways on fire across New York, London, Milan, and Paris in February 2020, no one knew that she had already crossed a few months of her pregnancy. Yep, your read that right, Gigi Hadid recently revealed that she was pregnant during the Fashion Month while responding to speculations of her getting plastic surgery that crop up, now and again, owing to her naturally full cheeks.
The supermodel recently went live on Instagram with Maybelline’s Global Makeup Artist Erin Parsons and tried a natural, Zoom-friendly makeup look with Parsons’ instructions. It was while the duo was sharing notes about beauty routines, that Gigi Hadid talked about being pregnant, how it has impacted her face shape, which also led her to address the rather popular opinion of her flawless face being the result of plastic surgery. Hadid is soon going to be first-time mommy as her first child with Zayn Malik is expected to be born sometime in September this year.
She shared that when it comes to pregnancy-induced changes in a woman’s body, especially in her face, she hasn’t noticed any. “People think I do fillers on my face, and that’s why my face is round—I’ve had this since I was born,” Gigi Hadid shared, revealing that during the fashion month this year, she “was already, like, a few months preggo”.
Parsons remarked that she expected her full cheeks to appear more puffed given the fact that Gigi Hadid is so far along in her pregnancy, but “I feel like you look exactly like I remember you.”
“Well, I think I like, have the cheeks already, so it’s like there’s not a lot to like, fill in,” Hadid remarked. Parsons even commented that often during pregnancy a woman’s nose gets bigger too, but Hadid is not worried even if she does go through such a transformation as she is “happy with the natural process of the world.”
Addressing the widespread rumors of her using fillers, Gigi Hadid assured that plastic surgery is a big NO for her
“For those wondering, I’ve never injected anything into my face. I’m so happy for everyone to do whatever they want that makes them happy and make them feel more comfortable and good about themselves,” Gigi Hadid said, adding that the possibility that plastic surgery can go wrong, terrifies her. She marveled at people who opt to undergo the process and are “fast to do permanent things to their face”.
“When really, like anything—I’ve loved being like, I accept myself how it is. That doesn’t mean I don’t have insecurities sometimes,” she confessed.
