Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s daughter, baby Khai, turned one over the weekend, September 20, and her parents went all out to celebrate the precious day.
While Gigi Hadid has been extremely protective about her daughter’s privacy, this time she felt ready to share a detailed look at the festivities. Hadid shared several photos on her Instagram Story of the elaborate décor that included balloons, the multi-tiered, over-the-top cake Carlos Bakery created for Khai’s Word Party at the New York City bash.
Hadid’s pics come after her older sister, Alana, shared a photo of Khai, Hadid, and Malik at the party, taking in the decorations.
“Happy birthday to one of the best things to happen to our little world Khai,” Alana wrote. “Watching my amazing little sister become the most wonderful mother makes me tear up with pride. Can’t wait to see you grow little girl your Aunty Alana loves you. Thanks for giving us this angel @gigihadid @zayn happy 1st birthday to you, you have done such an amazing job.”
And this was not it, the dress code of the party was ‘Silly Pants’ or ‘Silly skirts’ for baby Khai’s birthday celebration,” shared Khai’s grandmother, Yolanda Hadid, along with her pictures.
She also took to Instagram to celebrate Khai’s first birthday by posting a series of rare pictures featuring the toddler.
“Happy first birthday to our Angel Khai,” Yolanda wrote in her caption, alongside a heart emoji. “No words can express how much love and joy you have brought into our lives in just one year… I had to grow a whole other heart to absorb it all, you are such a magical little being that brings us smiles and blessings everyday. [sic] Thank you to your incredible mamma @gigihadid and bubba @zayn for the greatest gift of life!!”
Yolanda isn’t the only Hadid family member using social media to celebrate Khai’s first bash. Aunty Bella Hadid also took to Instagram to share snapshots of some precious moments spent with her niece over the past year.
“Happy Birthday to the greatest gift our family has ever been blessed with… I didn’t know my heart could grow this big!!!! You make me smile when I’m sad and make me cry of happiness just because ur [sic] alive. I can’t wait to watch you grow into the most perfect specimen of all. @gigihadid @zayn thank you for my forever best friend,” Bella wrote accompanying her pictures.
However, while many family tributes poured in from the family, none of them show Khai’s face.
Back in July, Gigi openly asked paparazzi to blur baby Khai’s face from any pictures in an effort to protect her privacy. “We have never intentionally shared our daughter’s face on social media. Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself to the world when she comes of age and that she can live as normal a childhood as possible, without worrying about a public image that she has not chosen,” Gigi wrote back then. “It would mean the world to us, as we take our daughter to see and explore NYC and the world, if you would PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE blur her face out of the images if and when she is caught on camera. I know it’s an extra effort, but as a new mom, I just want the best for my baby, as all parents do.”
