Glenn Close celebrated the big night of the Oscars 2021 by pulling off a crazy dance move to the song “Da Butt” in front of everyone.
While Glenn Close did lose the Oscar Award for “Best Actress in a Supporting Role” to Minari’s Youn Yuh-jung, the exciting award show itself was definitely a blast for the 74-year-old “HillBilly Elegy” star.
Glenn Close did not let her age come in the way at the Oscars 2021 as she twerked to the iconic E.U song “Da Butt.”
Why did Glenn Close twerk to “Da Butt”?
To make the night of the Oscars 2021 fun, a game of “Guess That Song” was held by the Jimmy Fallon show drummer, Questlove, and the guest-host Lil Rel Howery went downstage to ask the attending stars to guess whether the song was ever nominated, won an oscar or not.
When the turn finally came on Glenn Close, she correctly guessed the Experience Unlimited’s iconic song and when Rel Howery asked her to dance to “Da Butt”, she did not refuse.
Glenn Close had also revealed in a red carpet interview that if she took home an Oscar where she would display it. She stated that, “I actually haven’t, but I have this fantasy — and I think I [would] actually do it — that I might take it to the local library for people to look at; I might take it to the coffee shop I go to a lot. So that people can actually see what it’s like. [To] kind of bring this world into everyday life. That’s what I will do.”
Glenn Close’s nomination at the Oscar 2021 for her role of mamaw in HillBilly Elegy has made it her 8th time being nominated for an Academy Award. Sadly, she still hasn’t won one.
Glenn Close had also told PEOPLE magazine that she did not mind the prosthetics and the shabby look she donned for her role in Hillbilly Elegy.
“I’ve always chosen to live in places where I wouldn’t feel the pressure of having to look a certain way because I just don’t like spending that much time on it,” said the SAG award winner. “West Village in New York and now in Montana, you wear blue jeans. Literally, I look at myself and say, ‘You’ve got to change that shirt. You’ve been wearing that shirt for five days. But it’s a really nice flannel shirt that I got from Murdoch’s. Okay, wash it.’ “
