On July 19, Halsey announced the arrival of their first child, Ender Ridley, with boyfriend Alev Aydin in an Instagram post by sharing a picture with the baby and Aydin. Per the Instagram post, Halsey welcomed the little one on June 14.
Halsey uploaded two black-and-white photos. The first photo includes the baby resting over mom Halsey and father Alev looking at them, and the second photo is of the baby breastfeeding.
The Without Me singer also captioned the photo and mentioned the baby’s name and date of birth.
“Gratitude. For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Powered by love. Ender Ridley Aydin, 7/14/2021,” popstar wrote under the photo.
This year in January, Halsey surprised fans by sharing her growing belly photo while announcing her pregnancy. She wrote “Surprise” under the photo with a milk bottle, Rainbow, and a baby angel emojis.
On the post, father Alev expressed his love in the comments section by commenting, “Heart so full, I love you, sweetness.” To which Halsey replied, “I love you!!!!! And I love this mini human already!”
The singer updated her fans about her feelings and the changes in her body throughout her pregnancy.
A few months before, in February, Halsey posted five photos on Instagram with a long caption. The photos include a selfie, a banana split ice cream, a photo in a two-piece swimsuit, a food bowl, and a snap from a play.
“February is the shortest month, but the days seem like they are taking very long. Butttttt also going so fast?! I’ve been thinking lots about my body. it’s strange to watch yourself change so quickly. I thought pregnancy would give me very strong, binary feelings about “womanhood” but truly it has leveled my perception of gender entirely. My sensitivity to my body has made me hyper aware of my humanness and that’s all. Doing a remarkable thing. And it’s grand. I hope the feeling lasts. I cook a lot, sleep even more, and read lotssss of books. I miss my family. And you guys too! 🧚♂️ bye for now,” Halsey wrote under the post.
Apart from this exciting news, Halsey’s professional life is also on a roll.
In the photo, Halsey sat on a throne, holding a baby on her lap. She explained that the theme of the album is the “joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth”.
“It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months,” they explained.
“The dichotomy of the Madonna and the Wh***. The idea that me as a s****l being and my body as a vessel and gift to my child are two concepts that can co-exist peacefully and powerfully. My body has belonged to the world in many different ways the past few years, and this image is my means of reclaiming my autonomy and establishing my pride and strength as a life force for my human being,” Halsey added.
“This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies & breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!” Halsey ended the post saying, “I hope this can be a step in the right direction!”
