‘House of the Dragon’, The long-awaited Game of Thrones spinoff has received an update from the HBO Max Content chief Casey Bloys.

While many fans of the Emmy-Award-winning show Game of Thrones lost their trust in the creators following the disappointing and rushed final season, their hope can finally be reignited. The production of the GOT prequel, “House of the Dragon” is in full bloom and we now have some fresh news on it’s status.

While the news of the mastermind behind the series, George R. R. Martin signing contracts for multiple Game of Thrones spinoffs has fans hyped — so far, only one of those projects is currently being produced.

‘House of the Dragon’ is the only GOT project in the working

The Content Chief of HBO Max, Casey Bloys, told Variety that he was astonished to hear the rumors from the fans about there being several ‘Game of Thrones’ spinoffs in the workings, as there is only one project being worked on.

”‘House of the Dragon is the only one shooting,” Bloys revealed. “All the other ones are in various stages of development. People may think we have 10 series shooting at the moment. There’s one that will be on the air in 2022. We’ll see how the other scripts come along.”

What is the plot of the upcoming GOT prequel, ‘House of the Dragon’?

The Game of Thrones spinoff, House of the Dragon, will take place around 300 years before the beginning of the main TV show’s first season that came out in 2011. This GOT prequel is based on the companion book “Fire & Blood”.

The prequel will depict the events of Dance of Dragons, which is the civil war that took place between two of Targaryens siblings, Aegon II and Rhaenyra “Emma D’Arcy”, arising out of succession following the passing of their father Viserys I.

As a butterfly effect, the great houses of Lannisters and the Starks will see each other at their throats and, eventually, leading to the extinction of the house of Targaryen’s fire-breathing dragons. Although we are sure to see some magnificent dragons in action in the upcoming GOT prequel.

The HBO Max show, “House of the Dragon” is set to release in 2022.
