Jada Pinkett Smith Breaks Silence On Will Smith And Chris Rock’s Oscars Feud

Her reaction was a bit underwhelming to say the least.

Jada Pinkett Smith, the subject of Chris Rock’s crude joke at the Oscars which earned him a smack in the face from her husband, has spoken for the first time ever since the incident took place. In an Instagram post that she made on Tuesday, the talk show host expressed her feelings regarding the incident and how she wants to move forward with it.

What does Jada Pinkett Smith have to say about her husband’s actions at the Oscars 2022?

The post consisted of a single picture that read: “This is a season for healing. And I’m here for it.” She did not particularly point out either Chris Rock’s joke or Will Smith’s subsequent outlash.

As many of you are aware of the incident, on the night of the Oscars 2022 award ceremony, the comedian made an inappropriate joke targeting Pinkett Smith’s alopecia and hair loss, something she is highly insecure about. After noticing her distress over it, Will Smith took it upon himself to teach the former a lesson by publicly slapping him across the face.

It is still not known whether Jada Pinkett Smith will ever open up more about this Oscars incident. But for now, we can assume that this is all she has to say about it all.

Will Smith’s apology to Chris Rock

The incident received huge media coverage, making it one of the most infamously memorable moments in the history of the Oscars. Will Smith eventually apologized for the incident saying that his behavior was highly inappropriate and that he had  “reacted emotionally” to his wife’s medical condition being the centre of the joke.

“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable,” he wrote in his apology. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong,” he added.

What is up with Chris Rock after all of this went down?

Chris Rock, who was at the receiving end of such “violence”, has not commented on the Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith Oscar meltdown yet. However, it seems like the comedian has sold out tickets for his upcoming stand-up shows due to all the media attention. Well, as they say, negative publicity is also good publicity!

Will Smith went on to receive the Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in King Richard, a movie about tennis aces Serena and Venus Williams’ father Richar Williams, shortly after the incident.
