Jason Sudeikis Reacts To Mitt Romney’s ‘Ted Lasso’ Halloween Costume In A Subtle Way

It’s all in his ‘liked’ tweets.

Jason Sudeikis didn’t directly respond to Mitt Romney’s Ted Lasso Halloween costume, but he came close as Twitter users who read his “liked” tweets pointed out.

Mitt Romney blew up the internet on Thursday with a series of GIFs and photographs in which he dressed up like Jason Sudeikis’ popular Ted Lasso character for Halloween. A GIF of Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema, in particular, touched a chord.

Romney’s Lasso gives Sinema’s Rebecca Welton (played by Hannah Waddingham on the Apple TV+ show) a box of his famous cookies in the photo captioned “Biscuits with the boss.”

Following that, Romney tapped a replica of Ted’s famous “Believe” sign, caught a soccer ball, and posed in full Lasso attire, complete with moustache.

The final photo with the caption, “After 10 years, I’m finally returning the favor. How was my @TedLasso, @JasonSudeikis?” referring to Sudeikis’ frequent impersonations of Romney while he was a cast member on Saturday Night Live.

Look no further than Sudeikis’ liked tweets to get the answer to that question. While Sudeikis did not respond directly, he did support a tweet by Alex Baze, a writer and producer who has worked on Late Night with Seth Meyers and Saturday Night Live.

Baze tweeted, “The scariest thing he could think of was kindness.”

Fans of the Emmy-winning show, as well as a number of late-night hosts, shared Baze’s opinion on Thursday evening.

In a Late Night segment, Seth Meyers quipped, “Man, you know you’re unpopular when you single-handedly ruin one of America’s favorite TV shows. This just proves once again that we desperately need Roy Kent in Congress, because that picture makes me want to ‘f—ing puke.’”

“Aww, aren’t they cute?” Jimmy Kimmel said of Romney and Sinema’s photo. “They’re having so much fun while the country dies… Twitter needs a ‘This May Be Vomit’ button on it.”

Jason Sudeikis dressed up for Halloween on Saturday afternoon in a simple but endearing costume.

As he drove home from a party in Los Angeles, the 46-year-old performer was costumed as a custodian.

Sudeikis wore a navy blue utility suit with a dark grey newsboy cap and a long-sleeve t-shirt that matched. With a stylish pair of orange-and-white Nike sneakers, the former Saturday Night Live cast member added a pop of colour to his outfit.

He carried a mop around to make sure he had everything he needed. And the actor from Horrible Bosses walked away with a blow-up guitar and many gift bags.
