Jason Sudeikis, Star Of Ted Lasso, Is Back In New Promos For SNL

This season, SNL will allow a sketch comedian to host the show for the first time.

There are some new promos to commemorate Jason Sudeikis’ return to SNL. Since the AppleTV show took the world by storm, the Ted Lasso star has been in high demand. As a result, it’s only natural that Studio 8H would be visited at some point. Sudeikis is oozing his unique brand of charm, and Brandi Carlisle is on hand to be a musical guest. Because many SNL entries are bolstered by hilarious hosts, this could be the season’s outstanding episode.

Jason Sudeikis appeared with cast members Chloe Fineman and Alex Moffat, as well as Carlile, in a promo released today to preview what fans can anticipate from his SNL episode, which will premiere on October 23.

Fineman said, “It’s going to be spooky.”

Moffat said, “It’s going to be scary.”

Carlile said, “It’s going to have some laughs.”

“And if we do things right,” Sudeikis concluded, “we just might learn a little something about ourselves along the way…Or not.”

Moffat asks Sudeikis if he’s seen a sketch he’s pitching in the second section of the promo.

“The one with the loaf of sourdough that coaches Manchester United?” Sudeikis enquires. Moffat gives a nod and refers to it as “Bread Lasso.”

Sudeikis replies, “Yeah, Brandi and I were just talking about that one. Real awful stuff man.”

Fineman then suggests “Shed Lasso,” and while Moffat isn’t sure how a sketch about a shed coaching soccer makes sense, Sudeikis is impressed, saying, “That’s really good, actually.”

Sudeikis thinks it’s time for “positive affirmation,” and Moffat tells himself, “We’re going to kill it!” in the last part. “We’re going to be funny,” Fineman adds.

“The best host ever,” Carlile says, while Sudeikis praises her “the best musical guest ever,” adding, “Now, manifest it!”

Jason Sudeikis was a cast member on SNL from 2005 through 2013, after joining the NBC sketch show as a sketch writer in 2003. He plays a warmhearted and sentimental U.S. football coach named Ted Lasso in Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso, which he co-created with Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, and Bill Lawrence. He heads to the UK to manage a London football team, despite his complete lack of knowledge of the latter sport. On October 8, the show finished its second season and will return for at least one more.
