Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are making headlines with their juicy reunion, and like editorial rooms, celebrities also can’t resist the scoop.
Upon being spotted in Big Sky, Montana, over the weekend and photographed riding around in an SUV, the ex-fiancés arose new hopes for Beniffer fans. And that has obviously stirred an air of anticipation about what happens next.
When Affleck’s best buddy, Matt Damon, appeared on TODAY Tuesday morning for a chat, it was natural that co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb asked him about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck spending together. While he didn’t spill the beans about their relationship status, he did say that he hopes the rumors are true.
Likewise, other celebrities also couldn’t hold their reactions. When comedian Michelle Collins posted a screenshot of her tweet about the early 2000s couple to her Instagram on Monday, May 10, the Basic Instinct actress, Sharon Stone responded with the comment, “Yeah I mean WTF A-Rod?”
“J-Lo’s been with him for like 2 weeks and he’s hot as s—t again. I bet his phoenix back tattoo is slowly disappearing like the photo in Back to the Future,” read the post, which included a photo of Affleck, 48, and Lopez, 51, in a car.
So what does Alex Rodriguez feel about their reunion?
Like the others, Alex also took a jab at Ben Affleck after his reunion with his ex Jennifer Lopez last week. According to Page Six, when Rodriguez was asked about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez vacationing together after their breakup, his response to it was “Go Yankees.”
What did that comment mean?
While MLB fans already know the answer. For the uninitiated, the underlining meaning behind that reply is that these are fighting words, given Affleck’s loyal support of the Boston Red Sox and disdain for the team’s longtime rival: the New York Yankees.
Alex Rodriguez played for the New York Yankees from 2004-2013, 2015-2016, and led the team to the World Series title in 2009. Whereas, Ben Affleck is a huge Boston Red Sox fan. And a fan to the extent that he told the New York Times that he wouldn’t wear a Yankees hat in a scene in the film Gone Girl.
While The retired MLB star has kept quiet on the new Bennifer development, he is reportedly “shocked” as he believed he and Lopez could reconcile.
“He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect,” a Lopez source told E! News. “He has been reaching out to J.Lo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him.”
If sources are to be believed, a source claimed to TMZ that Ben Affleck, 48, and J.Lo, 51, were in “regular contact by email” since early February.
