Fans boycott Warner Bros. as the latter makes fun of Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp’s fans are outraged with a controversial joke made by Warner Bros. The controversial joke includes a poster of cartoon Jonny Depp with a title– “Johnny 2: Telling Lies.” It seems to be pointing out Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s high-profile divorce and his lawsuit with British newspaper ‘The Sun’
An outraged fan tweeted, “So I’ve watched the entire Animaniacs sequence. The song is about reboots etc. The only thing that is not about reboots, is the Johnny Depp’s part. The poster shows Depp with the title “Telling Lies” which basically shows the WB are saying he is lying about AH.”
Another fan took to Twitter and commented, “Warner Brothers: this is a sick thing to do to an abuse survivor. Listen to the tapes- Johnny Depp has been put through psychological torture and physical abuse. I’m sorry that I don’t find this funny, but it’s no laughing matter.”
The Animaniacs first season released in 1993 and ended in 1998. The show aired on Fox Kids and Kids’ WB. The Animaniacs reboot which features Jess Harnell, Rob Paulsen, Tress MacNeille, and Maurice LaMarche is now streaming on Hulu.
